Is the factory bearing/seal replaceable? If so is there a part number you can direct me to?

Do you mind if i ask about how much the haltech cost you? I'm considering purchasing one through Bret. I'm not sure if this is the way i want to go yet. I spoke with Haltech who advised it must be run parallel in a C6 corvette due to the BCM. Sounds pretty complicated. Any help you could offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I would to love to own one of the later T/A's. I sold my '73 Corvette with a new swapped in ZZ-4 to buy a T/A but then couldn't find one for a reasonably sane price so I bought a c5 Vert instead. Great car but needs some more guts.

Very good stuff!. Thanks for the video. I'm not far from you (off RT 67) I would love to have you help me align my used like new $200 MGW. (non Flat Stick) It Shifts fine except for 1st and 2nd gear which takes a little muscle to get in gear. All other gears shift easy,fast and dead on accurate. I'm getting a bit tired of taking the damn console out .... Know what I mean ; ) Thanks Bob.

I have a 2000 C5, with MN6 and MGW flat stick Shifter, it is also hard like the tick. I rebuilt my transmission, new synchros, etc... but its still hard to shift... i want to do the TMOD shifter linkage upgrade as it still has slop.. but the 'fast' shifting like the mgw in your video maybe its because the TR6060 is better? I dont know... I was VERY dissapointed with my MN6 after rebuild thinking oh maybe its hard cuz of synchros, but with upgraded new ones it still felt hard to shift just no grinding lol...

Tusc! Johnny Hardcore here. I knew that was you! Nice side by side comparison and commentary. I appreciate the effort you put into this. I'm still rolling around on a 20yr old B&M Ripper, which I've finally decided I'm over it. Likely going with the MGW. Just haven't hit submit on the order yet. 😉

OP here - I have always driven the MGW in the full-down knob mount location in the past. Having been on a cut-down factory unit for 2-3 years, and then the taller Tick for the past 8 weeks, the very first thing I did was raise the Gripper knob perhaps halfway up the travel distance on the bar. At full down it did take more force than the Tick. At half raised they feel roughly on par. I'll commence to putting some miles on it and come back when done. One of these will be staying in the garage and going on the Z06. The other will find its way to the for sale pages.

Ha! Good job. I had never paid much attention to drifting until last year and I caught two night evens out there. Loving it. When I sort out my current build I might have to figure it out somewhere without walls nearby.

if your going 125 mph on drag radials, you should run 10.8-11.0. Also 37x rear wheel through an auto is around 440-445 flywheel. if car is full weight should weigh 3350. 370 rear wheel and 3500 with driver should run about 11.7-12.0 and with 225 less weight should run 11.2-11.4.

You sound like a smart guy. You obviously have spent years more than we have at the track. Thanks for your intelligent contributions. You should send your resume around and get picked up by a race team. They'd surely gain from your perspective. When you figure out the value of a HARD launch and winning a race in the first 60 feet, come on back.

this car is a perfect example of fuck all ,if this car runs 11s i ll get naked on top of the empire state building and ask pamela anderson to get married,dont be so foolish ,this car is a high thirteen at best just by the sound of it ,next week mine will be on you tube and listen to the sound difference thus the power difference.

you guys have to learn to stop saying you run this or you run that without any truthfullness ,go to a freaking track and have a rude awakening.And a roll cage adds weight to a car will not make a 377 horsepower street car go faster,maybe a 800 horsepower car that flexes under stress but not this guys 377 horsepower i wanna run 11s car.

Topics to think about include: power-to-weight ratio and traction. This car is a perfect example of how to maximize every ounce of traction and power the engine put out.
@brett31979
@brett31979 16 жыл бұрын
The chassis was set up entirely for drag. 12-pt cage, quad-link suspension, nothing stock but the body panels. Detroit locker Ford 9" rear, 3.90 gears, fuel cell, 3000 rpm stall, brake lock kit, etc etc. The prior owner had a larger engine in it and the setup ran 8s. Sorry to shove your foot all the way though your mouth, but a car set up with one purpose in mind.... to go fast in a straight line.... applies the power effectively, in the right power band, and moves like hell.

Lighten the car and work on your suspension and traction. If you're "well over" 500 hp, there's no excuse not to be in the 11s. Put more effort into getting the car to hook and launch hard. The key here is usable power. Sounds like you must just be spinning your tires off instead of boggeying on down the track.
@brett31979

The car is sold now, but it had 11,000 original miles. Original owner bought it turned it into a track car. Kept all the original tires, seats, etc wrapped in plastic, yanked the drivetrain and put a monster in it. When Mark got hold of it, we put in a 95 LT1 with heads/cam and dfi with a race prepped TH350. The car already had the full cage, ford 9" with detroit locker, and custom 4-link drag suspensions in the rear. Nothing stock on that car.
