I did not know I was going to have a stent until two days AFTER the transplant!!! I was irate to say the least. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, I had had a cystoscopy over 20 years before I knew enough to make sure that I found the urologist who would give me general anesthesia for the stent removal. that was the most shocking ation at first surgery but having a central line in my neck and a drainage tube, my abdomen also surprises. Surprise! I made sure that I asked for maximum pain medication that they would give me 20 or 30 minutes before removal of both of those lines, plus the Foley catheter removal. Thank you for sharing your experience. Suffered a NDE JUN23, and because of a bacterial infection from VIBRIO, I was put on dialysis. Since going to treatment 3x/week, the emotional rollercoaster this past year has taken its toll on me. Been trying to do research on beginning the process to get a transplant especially the cost involved and where to go. What did you you do to get the process started and what are the upfront costs associated with it? God's blessings to you on your road to recovery.

How much Prednisone are people taking?

I put garlic directly on my daughter's skin!! It burned like he'll and it took her pigmentation away!!! Never put garlic directly into skin on face!!!

On PD Dialysis how does a person walk around with 2000 mL of fluid in their stomach I feel very extended and Bloated and I can barely breathe with that much fluid I don't understand

In order to avoid infection, it is not recommended for transplant patients to consume raw food (uncooked) such as salad. Is it allowed in the US?

What does nephrology mean?

I'm 13 months post Transplant, but trainers on line discourage Cardio, but they don't have my issues, bulging, water retention, meds, etc. I think I'm just gonna do Cardio, I don't want to have this unsightly bulge, all my life, gonna do what's best for me, been avoiding Cardio, light weights don't cut it. Thanks Cindy! Could you please describe as you go through strong meds after transplant to avoid the rejection, how did you adjust your workout. I mean was your heart rate going up very fast, were you feeling reheated fast or dehydrated fast during your cardio/resistance strength training? Where you having some discomfort as the muscles in your back, tummy or neck get impacted by the wounds for the treatment? Thanks for sharing a Personal Trainer here, wanting to learn from your experience.

Dear Cindy, Thank you for sharing you Kidney transplant experience. Hope and you will continue stay healthy in Jesus name. If I may share Kidney transplant journey. July 2023 as you know there's a lot of test just to qualify. My last test December 28 2023 . I received a call the hospital, letting me know they found a donor. My new Birthday January 9 2024. It's been almost 5 months, the Kidney is doing well. It's changed my life 😊❤. Never give Hope all that are waiting. My prayers to all that that had Kidney transplant all are waiting!!

Thank you so much for this information and I appreciate your candor. I was recently diagnosed with ITP and just finished a course of 40 mg total each morning of Dexamerhasone for four days and its effects were mostly insomnia but today on my last day I noticed a little reddish color on my cheeks and a slight bit of fullness in my face. I know I might need to stay on this course if my platelets counts don’t increase and I have to change my diet. and I’m hoping for the best 😊

Hi, Just now saw your video after searching for info on post transplant fatigue. I am 2 mos. post liver and kidney transplant on 3/4/2024! I am doing remarkably well except with the fatigue. Wow, your experience really speaks to me, although I feel so fortunate that I have not experienced many of the things you did. I'm subscribing! You are so very encouraging! Thanks and God bless!
