In the late 90s, I lived in Prague 5 (Košiře). It was a great area and i loved Prague. Then my girlfriend, soon wife, moved back to her hometown of Opava. It's a small city east of Prague near Poland. They were different experiences, for sure, but if i were to move back, I'd probably prefer Opava. I'm 55 now.

I think Amtrak can be hit or miss, the Downeaster from Boston to Maine is very reliable and comfortable. What I enjoy about Czech trains are the numerous locomotive-hauled classic formations with coaches and dining cars all around the network. I agree with your general conclusion and Czech trains are solid, also for daily, repetitive commutes, not just the occasional trip.

4:18 local here .. Honestly, not having a problem and having max 15-20 min delay is total majority / standard. Those "horror stories" are really rare and in comparison to other countries ČD is really great value for money, clean and punctual. Not always but almost always. I cannot complain a bit. Yes, I experienced once or twice like a big mess because of big delay but ... I mean... in 10 years twice a bad experience is drop in a bucket. Those big delays are mostly because of construction works which are necessary anyway and it then cause the whole system to make delays also around other corridors so ... understandable.

I left the USA because I had cancer 3 times. I currently have cervical cancer and 2 fractured in my neck. I have been in a neck brace in 1.5 years. I have been denied care even with insurance. I left the country and now I am looking for citizenship in another country. I am embarrassed to be an American and do not plan on going back!

How's it going over there? I've enjoyed your channel and haven't seen any updates in a while. How is the cost of energy this year? Is it cheaper to heat your home? I was messaging with a woman who said she and her family were spending around $450 a month to heat their some just outside the SW of Prague. Díky!
@ThePragueExpat06 ай бұрын
Yea my inlaws pay alot to heat their home. I think a major factor is homes with poor insulation. The building we live in is well-insulated. Would be nice to buy an apartment in this building actually. Thanks for the motivation to post a video. Busy with work. I will try and post something soon.

There is actually a BBC film that came out recently about it. It’s called One Life. I think everyone there was crying by the end
@hristiantodorov39787 ай бұрын
Please watch the movie!!! "one life" is the best movie out right now, with the least amount of sessions in the cinemas, please watch it. This is real cinema, unlike the trash people are going to watch, movies like this one are being hidden in the background. Book and watch this movie next time you go, feel some real emotion and learn something. Go to the movies to change your life not to mindlessly watch barbie

Is it possible to find a Czech Republic Christian lady?
@ThePragueExpat08 ай бұрын
I believe so. While Prague is very liberal with few devout Christians, there are Christian churches that do services in English and this might be the best place to start. Outside of Prague, I would say you have an even better chance of finding a "Christian Lady" but in those places, some proficiency with the Czech Language would be helpful.

If you’re ever in Prague, you can see a humble spring dedicated to Sir Nicholas on Petrin Hill. It’s a quiet spot with a bench nearby so one can reflect and give thanks.

@@ThePragueExpat0 Jičín is a nice small town that has surprisingly good services because it is far away from all bigger towns in the area and it is still relatively close to Prague and the grammar school there is really good. I’ve been dating a Czech girl here in the states , she’s been here for 15 years . Only been dating her for a year and we just had our first argument, holy shit 😂 i mean during the year I could tell she was a firebrand in ways so I wasn’t blindsided. I love it and wouldn’t change anything because although she’s a little pushy and when she’s mad she’s fierce … she loves and takes care of me with the same level of energy. They’re certainly not for the weak fellas lol
