Great video!! So helpful. I’m an older skater and have already been injured badly enough to take me off wheels for a year and alter my life forever. I agree - learn to fall and wear the gear - even if it’s hot, uncomfortable, and not “cute”. Great is cuter than road rash, broken bones, and torn ligaments. 🙌🏽

Hi, you're the best. I would like to buy quad. Which foot size is better to choose: one size up, or two more 🤔? I'll have to buy them online....
@rollerqueen
@rollerqueen 14 күн бұрын
Thank you 💓🛼 Whatever Skate you buy, look at the sizing chart and measure your foot to get the right size, you don’t want to size up with rollerskates, you want them to fit you like a glove. Example, my skates are so tight on my feet, I don’t even have room for regular socks. I actually wear nylons. 😂 If you want me to help you pick out the perfect skate, send me links to the Skates you’re looking at

I just subscribed to you channel, as I've just gotten back into skating for about a month now. I also got a pure of Sure Grip Fames because the skates that my friend let me use had the left skate roll over to the right, so now I can't wait to try them out at my local roller rink here in Detroit. I'm looking forward to your lessons, as I try to remember all the fun I had as a skilled skater. Glad I found your channel.

I'm new to this skating thing 🛼 😂...never skated. I came across this video & I really liked the content. I already bought some VNLA speed skates & ready to start. I'll definitely keep watching & subscribe. Brenda is amazing 👏🏾...you both are great @ this.

this was good, can you do one for intermediate and also advanced?

I kid you not, i've watched every beginner roller skating post on KZfaq. This is hands down THE BEST post i've seen. From mentioning foot work to do with skates off to get the feel of the movement, then actually showing how to do it safely with skates on. To me just that advice alone seems fundamental and absolutely NO ONE mentions that. I've basically un-subscribed to everyone else and subscribed to your only. Just goes to show just because people claim to be experienced roller skaters does not mean they're any good at teaching it. Being 60 this year and love fitness ( been training with weights since i was 13 ) i know what sounds real and purposeful added with collective wisdom in my own self, i have an instinct of who's experienced and who's not. I'm basically looking for fitness with fun and roller skating absolutely hits the nail on the head in my mind. I'm going to follow your learner routines and hopefully one day i can message you and say 'Hey Brenda, you never guess what?...i can skate just as good as you! 😁

By this definition: put Nancy Kerrigan on wheels, and she might just qualify for intermediate status.

Is arius plates good for outdoor trail skating?
@rollerqueen
@rollerqueen Жыл бұрын
Yes it is amazing low maintenance plate, especially for trail skating. There’s a lot of agility moves you have to do when you’re skating outdoors, this plate is very responsive and has saved my life many times especially when my dog decides to start chasing a squirrel when I’m skating her on the leash. 😂

can i ask what type of surface is this and what type of wheels you are using ? thankyou😊 currently trying to spin on a smooth tennis court on 82A's if that helps!
@rollerqueen
@rollerqueen Жыл бұрын
In this vid, I am skating on my garage floor, it is definitely less grippy than your outdoor tennis court surface but it still has a little grip, which you probably still want a little grip while you’re learning to spin. My wheels at very hard very little grip in comparison to your 82 is, the wheels are probably 101a . You should definitely get yourself some hard dance wheels and start playing around with the idea of your wheels sliding during spins. To get used to them, you can keep one of your grippy wheels on the wheel that supposed to be gripping the floor, such as your big toe. When you are practicing this spin/the inner back upright spin, the big toe will is the one that you want to grip, all the other ones you want to slide.
