this film found its way to my recommendations

Something I just realized upon rewatching this film is the guy at 4:21 This guy in the white robes is played by the same guy who played one of the bishops in Alexander Nevsky, Naum Rogozhin. I always assumed Cherkasov was the only one who was in multiple of Eisenstein’s films but I suppose I have been proven wrong. I wonder if he would have had a role in Part 3.

Sergei Vronsky's Cinematographic efforts really shine outside. I wish they had managed to incorporate exteriors or real locations into the films more. Not so much a fan of the very stage-y interior house scenes (amazingly dramatic writing from the source material notwithstanding). But every time they do go outside it is such a treat!

A gentle and simplistic movie which has related the historic battle. It was a great victory against darkness. Russian tenacity is amazing as said the tansport boat old captain. With El Alamein it was the beginning of the end. for ever thank to whom have fallen.

This is the movie of the legend of Viy. It does not explain much more than the other two films. Viy subtitled and the Forbidden Kingdom. Three movies in all. This is a good movie. I liked it very much but it did not answer questions pertaining to who or what Viy. Take it as is. Maybe someday my questions will be answered.
