Coastal ships are separate because imagine how much it would suck to go into your first naval battle in a PT boat and get one tapped by a destroyer. That can still happen, but at least you can grind straight into destroyers and heavier ships rather than having to grind through a bunch of PT boats and frigates first.

To anyone considering starting War Thunder - don't. If you want the realistic air, DCS is a fantastic (free) simulator and te DLC vehicles can be very rewarding. If you are into tanks, unfortunately there isn't really a true alternative, but Gunner Heat PC is solid game, constantly being worked on and they are even planning on integrating multiplayer. I have wasted nearly 4k hours on this dog-end of a game, it doesn't get better.

You people playing a gamemode that says and I quote "TANKS AND PLANES" complaining about the second vehicle of the gamemode even though you knew very well THERE IS going to be planes. Not to worry though bombs and rockets got nerfed into the ground to the point it does not matter if a 250lb is dropped right on top of a TOG 20 times, lots of cheaters on AA shooting down planes further away than what a radar AA such as m163 can do yet I dont see any complaining about that problem in this video. There is also the AA cheaters that get bombs dropped from several kilometers away with bombsight and they suicide or move exactly at that moment, funniest is there is tons of lvl100 like that very funny and obvious when they act like that. There is no such thing as "tank gamemode", there is only GROUND BATTLES were "TANKS AND PLANES" fight.

iirc i use my mouse to control the steering, LMB to gas, RMB to brake, scroll wheel to change gear, rest is keyboard....

They should make a Canadian truck simulator, I feel left out.

I bought this about 6 months ago with a couple of the cheaper map DLCs, but only put in about an hour or two, and I'm someone who has hundreds of hours in ATS and ETS2, so it should be right up my alley. The jankiness of pretty much everything and lack of polish is obviously the most annoying thing. The price of some of the bigger map DLC is insane too when ATS and ETS2 get much higher quality maps at a much lower price. And I know this is kind of a stupid complaint, but the fact that the only music you can play in the game is two shitty Euro-dance stations that are owned by the developers of the game makes me get bored much quicker, because it forces me to play without music. Setting up a long list of custom radio stations in ATS and ETS2 means I always have something I'll want to listen to, which makes the overall experience of the game so much better.

Ngl, I like Catalyst better than the first. Don't get me wrong, I love the first, it gave me such a good time as a kid, but the open world feature of Catalyst added so much richness to the world that the first was missing. I enjoy Catalyst more than the first, but I think they're both equally good in different ways.

Catalyst just gives you a feeling no other game gives you. Something about that gorgeous skyline and the incredible sound design just invigorate me and make me want to keep running just a little longer.

As a big fan of ME, I played them all. Honestly had a lot more fun with the Flash game than the mobile game. Was really hoping the former would get a full game version. I miss this era of gaming, when EA actually cared.

It's so sad to watch that part where you show the old German tech tree, the BRs were so much better and balanced. Now i have to play the unstabilized Leopard I against all the T55 variants. The layout of tanks in the tree was much better. I was lame of them to basically add .3 or .7 to most high tier tanks.

i knew this game as Big Rig Europe, and i was obsessed with it i suppose it was my first ever pc game i played it mostly in 2010 thru 2012, until i got into Minecraft and that became my hyperfixation for the following decade but i still love this game, and tbh i think its dealership thing where you go around the showroom and look at the trucks is something this game has over ETS2. I always thought that was way cooler. The first time I bought a SWIFT truck, i was enamored, i loved the green dashboard lighting. It always felt so cozy. I'd listen to Eminem and play "Big Rig" until someone needed the computer for something. ETS2 is by far a better game, but the first one has a special place in my heart

maybe it's just nostalgia, but I really enjoyed the predecessors, especially 18wos. Some features I still miss in ETS2, like managing when and where your drivers go instead of just returning empty every day. It was a thing in 18wos, you had the option to make the schedule for your drivers

I wonder how air RB players would think of ships coming in their battles, they wont be able to hide behind stuff to get to ships easily, the ships will never see ATGM's or any guided ammunition. CAS fucking sucks, I came to war thunder after I got sick of world of tanks and I want tank battles, not mixed battles, I would love have a RB with ground only but that has a lower chance of being implemented than winning a lottery. Also grinding for multiple tech trees or multiple tech tree lines is exhausting, it takes ages to just get a rank 5 vehicle and with multiple lines being researched it takes twice as long, now I just login to get the daily crate and thats it, you go to high br (rank 6) you get snipped from 8km or more by heli's and maybe you dont even have an SAM shooting spaa or planes, you could take a prop plane but you will get shot down by tanks with autocannons or spaa with a single hit.

I was writing an extremely long essay about issues Naval has, but my browser ran out of memory and crashed. Cool. Here's the abridged version: A lot of Naval's ships are very redundant on top of being samey. The IJN has what amounts to four Fusos, two Kongos, three Mogamis, three Furutakas, a bunch of Hatsuharus, a bunch of Mutsukis, and a bunch of Yugumos. These ships all have different stats of course but aren't different enough to feel like a large achievement when you obtain them on top of all generally looking like one-another. Naval's only competition, World of Warships, is much much better at making a new ship feel like a different but related experience to the one you had just before it, whether good or bad. Naval badly needs more variety in it. What I listed was JUST Japan, but every nation suffers it too. It also needs a less strange progression of time- why are boats with CIWS and missiles fighting pre-war and interwar dreadnoughts? Why are they fighting H8K flying boats with SAMs? And why do we lose that tech when we move up to the next rank? It's all very nonsensical and ultimately devalues the actual role these vessels were intended to play.

i think cas should be removed from ground battles but there should be a mixed battles mode designed for planes tanks and ships to all be played together

The fact people complain ships are not as good as tanks or planes is crazy.. They are SHIPS not tanks and planes with weak armor that you can one tap every single shot. There meant to be slow there SHIPS. You want arcade feel one tap anything stick to planes or tanks. Do not ruin navy for us veteran players that enjoy the way its set up. Just remember you dont like dont play it. Navy is highly underrated in this game coming from world of warships to this is alot better overall unless you want the arcade feel that there doing to world of warships now and killing it slowly. 1500 hrs later warthunder naval is one of the better sides of the game hands down from the constant german or russia one taps in tanks let alone planes.

CAS is super uneffective, you will never achief a nuke with cas, you can barely get few kills with it, so yes it is kind of weak

They don't make games like this anymore. It was both polished and done at launch. Believe it or not, the game recieved just a single minor patch after release and is completely bug free to this day. In contrast to modern games, that's completely unheard of.
