Interesting you compared Frontiers story to the adventure games as a reason for why people liked it. I think there's truth in that since it feels like the game was marketed that way. But as a person who liked the adventure games and disliked Frontiers I thought the stories were nothing alike, in terms of structure, pacing, characterization and tone. I'm personally a bit confused by people who praise the game for being a return to form in terms of story since I think Frontiers is nothing like any Sonic story before it. (I also didn't like the gameplay but thats a separate discussion)

I think Chaos should take his sweet time with the End of the world release. I'm sure it'll be beautiful when it finally releases. Though i also think it would be cool to see a mod for the hub worlds or something, i know they weren't amazing but any means but i miss their little charm. Could be my childhood bias, but i did still love the hubs even when i played through legacy of Solaris

this is what i like about ultrakill as a speedgame-you have the insanely broken out of bounds tech, but you also have the category for getting the highest level rank, which makes you go through all the encounters in the level except secret ones, so it’s mostly just staying inbounds and using cool tech to play the actual game really well

I love how the speedrun have evolved from breaking the game to doing skillful skips and movement tech, makes casually tryna speedrun the levels so much more interesting

I think I understand what they went for in Kingdom valley, it's cloudy and nighttime, so they likely went with the realistic approach to how much much visibility you get, with the torches kinda leading the way in some areas. Tho it doesn't look very playable for non experienced players.
