Listen to the doors this is the end song for amazing symbol taps. I have the number threes and it is amazing. Also the bases a lot stronger. I’m feeding my speakers with some audio amplification.

Hey I've got a question. I wanna use my MM-Turntable with only RCA Output with the Schiit Skoll and Active Yamaha HS8. First of all does it even make sense to run such a setup and will I end up with a good audio result? Secondly is it possible to plug my turntable into the SE-Input of the Skoll and then leave the Skoll over the balanced output to go into the active speakers? Thank you very much for any help!

Yup! The balanced output is still active on a SE input. Thats how I ran it. Its a great sounding phono so if it fits your budget, makes sense to me!

What makes it different from the usual digital streaming? The analog audio is converted to digital anyway. Really curious.

You do lose some of the vinyl sound, but you still get all the clicks, pops, surface noise and most of the character from a record. Some people may not care for it but thats up to the listener

Personally I don't use subs at home. My two speakers reach 30 htz, low enough for my taste. But that takes some $$$. Most people would rather get a new iPhone...

I had to switch out the USB-C cable. The one that came with the unit was causing interference which gave me a scratchy sound when adjusting the volume.

I 100% agree re the post on active amplification. Meridian employed analogue active decades ago. So did Linn with the Isobarik PMS. Sanders does digital dsp with his hybrid ELS speakers, including time alignment, room correction and parametric equalisation. Linn uses DSP nowadays. Even Klipsch with their Jubilee. I laugh when I see the audiophool in his Audi Lab with millions of dollars of hardware all ending-up going through an inferior, passive crossover with all their limitations. 🤡

OK, just here is the PROOF. That going active is superior. And we see that the BEST way to make crossover between drivers is to do it on the signal side BEFORE the power amplifier.🎉 But 99% of all speakers that is sold is passive with sound QUALITY degraded passive crossover!😂 So a big step in the right direction with better sound quality is to take ANY DSP at any price level (actually). That it do the crossover on the signal.😅 Even with a cheep(est) DSP will give a better sound quality than ANY passive crossover components that is I'm between the driver and the power amplifier (the DUMBEST for so many reasons, place to have crossover components)😅😂 But there is "only" one BIG advantage with all those passive crossovers and common occurrence of speakers, it is spelled CONVENIENCE.😅😅
