Russia just trying to flex whatever is left of their military muscle. Ukraine is cleaning Russia's military of it's modern equipment. They do this the the United States all the time. In Alaska, and now currently off the Florida coast with their subs and warships. Their in Cuba for a stopover too. We (America) also test Russia's and China's systems too....have been since the Cold War. Russia losing over 520,000 troops and a sh!tload of all their military equipment in Ukrain is something theyre having a hard time recovering from. NATO is playing their cards very good so far, as you can tell with Russia's tests of NATO

PZ2000 is still double the cost than K9 and maintenance cost and timing is questionable. Ukraine also found out that PZ2000 requires non standard 155mm rounds with less powder not to overheat the barrel. PZ2000 also doesn't have K10 auto loader for faster reload in combat environment.

It’s both, it was developed as APC as replacement for pbv 301 and instead of m113 though it has more fire power and can support infantry with its weapons, some experts count it as light IFV / or light BMP in Russian terms.

Yes it's a replacement for PBV 301 but the intention with PBV 302 was from the start that it should transport the soldiers all the way to the immediate proximity of the figt and then act as support in the fight hense the larger canon instead of a smaler machingun. Also it was designed to be able to fight with the soldiers onboard. It was never designed to just transport soldiers.
