The Dark Knight is such a legendary movie. Personally I prefer the third movie (The Dark Knight Rises) because it has my favorite Batman villain: Bane. But Heath Ledger was such an epic Joker and the story was amazing from start to finish!

Cool lore about the swamp marshes Sméagol took Sam and Frodo. Remember the very beginning of the first movie, the giant battle with Sauron which he lost the ring 3000 years previously? Those marshes were where that battle actually was, and the spirits that haunted Frodo underwater are the dead from that battle.

I'm sure you've already watched TDKR but I know you know Pittsburgh a little bit and they filmed a ton of it throughout the city (Oakland, East Liberty, Downtown, "Heinz Field"). Excited to see you notice at least the Steeler cameos.

So when Joker takes the knive to Gamble. it was supossed to lead to a showdown in the 3rd movie between Joker and Gamble that of course would never happen because Mary Kate olsen giving Ledger pills that lead to his overdose.

One of my favorite things about reactions to this movie, even those I have had with people in person seeing it for the first time, is that there is never any shock or surprise at what happens when Gimli whips his ax out to smash the ring. It's pretty impressive that the movie can make the audience so certain that it's not going to do anything even though we have never actually seen anything like it before.

The best way to describe this movie is “building tension”, it’s so intense and every time it takes it to another level.

I saw someone say that Luke was only able to get clean because Nell was dead. Their twin bond was true and because Nell was on medication, Luke felt sick and self medicated with drugs and when Luke was clean, Nell felt like she was in withdrawal (she said that she had the worst flu of her life) Its one of the most heart breaking thing I had ever read.
