I think that the pitates were actually just getting ready for battle, yes the pies arent aerodynamic but maybe it was for their enemys to eat. Their plan couldve been that they go to their enemies, try to make amends, celebrate and they eat their pie, after they leave they wait for sun down to go and get rid of the remaining witnesses and actually celebrate, and maybe mr krabs was with the pirates and he hired them to get rid of said enemys which couldve been plankton

Mr Krabs was in the military during his time, the way he runs the Krusty Krabs is how Navy life was for him. SpongeBob is a new recruit and has been molted into a obedient solider/fry cook. While Squidward is the lazy and disobedient soldier due to him there longer.

Considdering the nametag i as a former conscript can attest that small things like forgetting to change nametags/patches of the uniforms, being late or when you're fresh out of the military not wearing headgear outside(like a cap) are HORRIFYING thoughts.
