I used to putt like this with very straight rigid arms. But my wrists kept breaking down and twisting through impact. I changed my set up completely to have bent arms and be much more over the ball a bit more like Jack Nicklaus. Was the best thing I ever did, shaved multiple strokes off my handicap in fairly quick time.

Using the tennis racquet as a prop and training aid Brain was great! When I was a lot younger, I did play tennis in addition to playing golf! I opted to continue with golf because I could always go out and play as a single. I think playing tennis is why I am able to control my club face the way I do today! A great golf lesson for a tennis star! Well Done Brian!

Very good exercise Brian, but now you're making us spend money again! Times are tough these days ... yesterday it was already expensive enough with the breadboard ... now, a tennis racket ... financially I'm not going to be able to keep up ... 🤣😂.Joking aside, if we observe ourselves well, 3/4 of the problems in golf come from us. We complicate things for ourselves, and certainly look for difficulty where none exists.

Just think back hand Mick. You could also put the racquet in your left hand and pretend to hit a ball left, right and straight. The prince same. Your ball will go where your racquet is pointing at impact. Brian

What about steel shafts that have no flex?
@fitzygolfpro11 күн бұрын
Shaft flex has nothing to do with lie angle. Every shaft regardless of flex has both bend and drop. Fitting is about matching these and lie angle to the client.

I am left handed but golf right hand. Not sure what grip is best…left hand low?
@fitzygolfpro13 күн бұрын
I think that would be worth considering. Do some trials with a standard grip and left hand low and see what works best for you. Try hitting 3 foot puts from the around the hole say the NSEW game. Then put a circle of tees around the hole using 8 tees. Then put tees in the ground at 5 foot intervals from 15 feet to 45 feet. How many balls can you get in the circle using 1 ball from each tee. Do it over several sessions and you should be closer to a decision by the end of it. Brian

good video, what about of getting the ball out of soft sand? Thank you
@fitzygolfpro13 күн бұрын
There is no difference at all in the approach. Everything I said in this video applies to all sorts of sand. Softer sand requires a club with more bounce on it. Hard sand requires a club with less bounce on it, The technique is the same for both. Brian
@robertcourt859314 күн бұрын
Bunker technique isn't difficult, getting your head around hitting the sand is the hard part for most amateurs. We hit 90plus shots a round from grass and then find ourselves in a sand pit where it's just completely different. Recently I've been going out of an evening and hitting 30 to 40 bunker shots when the course is quiet and getting used to it. I'm getting better but it's still hard because there's so much variation in sand, lies, distance etc
@fitzygolfpro14 күн бұрын
Well done on your efforts in getting out there and working at it on the course. Bunkers are largely mental. You are right about the different concept. The exercise I showed in this video of striking the sand and getting sand out of the bunker and onto the green is a great drill. Just keep working at it. Brian.
@robertcourt859314 күн бұрын
Thanks for your vids Brian. I'm really enjoying getting better at the game. Played yesterday and didn't hit it great at all but I still managed to play bogey golf. On a better ball striking day I could have maybe taken a few shots off. Getting on the course and off of range mats as much as possible is the key.
@fitzygolfpro13 күн бұрын
You are 100% right there Robert. Mats are ok if there is no alterative but they should be used sparingly. Focus on short game and strategy and you will be rewarded. Brian
