False! You also need a trim removal tool to remove the trim piece where the two 7mm bolts sit behind. That piece may not be carbon on the 801a trim but a piece is still present on the 801a package and other trim levels! It’s not difficult to remove but I don’t understand why videos like this skip that step. You’re making it look a lot easier than it is which is deceiving in my opinion. Just show the whole process. There’s no need to hide steps. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Thanking the person who made this video greatly. However, i would like to invite you looking into this method of tuning kingshocks 3.0 on gen2 raptor. I have done a great amount of offroading and onroad. Let me tell you what i think is another-easier way to tune king shocks with-out lifting your car or removing your tires. The method is basically opposite to the one in this video: 1- loosen the bolt just enough so you move the pin. 2- with-out holding the bolt, loosen the pin outward, meaning allowing full rebound or compression, in other words go to completely soft ( allowing the oil to move freely). 3- from completely soft adjust the pin to firmer, determine how much you want to restrict rebound or compressing, in other words how harsh-hard you want the shocks. 4- once you adjust the pin the desired turns. Now tighten the bolt down to fix pin in position. **Note from my experience using them harshly on offroad and onroad these are sweet spot for on road use that can take bumpy roads too: - rebound should be a turn or 2 higher ( firmer - stiffer) from compression. Because you want the tire to tuck in but return back to assure traction. - my current onroad setup with no load in the bed of the truck is so i made rebound and compression equal: Rear shocks ( from completely soft ) is Rebound short = completely open ( soft) Rebound long = 5 turns from completely open ( soft) Compression short = completely open ( soft) Compression long = 5 turns from completely open ( soft) Front ( from completely open - soft) = 6 clicks. You can tune your shocks from there to harsher depending on how fast, how much load you got on the truck's bed and your preference.

How come this never came out? King definitely should come out with an electronic controller like the SDI eclick, then they’d have the same as the fox live valve but even better

The video is very helpful. Thank you. Can’t believe the tech mentions that it’s not a big deal. Puts me more at ease. I haven’t had issues but looking to budget for future problems. Anyone know how much the replacement should cost at a dealer or independent shop if they can do the work ?

Hello from maui Hawaii! I recently bought a 2023 raptor and retired a 2014 f150 fx4 that had the 3.5 eco boost engine in it. The past truck was stock and it served me well. Stepping into the new raptor i have to say that it is a huge upgrade and I’m enjoying it immensely. One draw back that I’m feeling however is that on the 14’ truck i could hear the turbos pulling air and spinning up and in the new raptor I can’t. I realize the exhaust is louder but what i really want is that sound back. Not needing a blow off sound and so I’m wondering, since you installed the Cobb air intake and this boost tubes… does it bring back that swoosh fun turbo spool up noise?? Im not looking for power so much as the truck is already hard to keep below speed limits ( maui doesn’t even have one road thats over 60MPH). I love your videos and im sure in time I’ll put your wisdom to use in future upgrades. Thank you for your feedback!!!!

You won’t hear much of the turbo sound without doing better downpipes. This would require tuning your truck and I don’t recommend it on the newer ones.

@adipperales9902
@adipperales9902 10 ай бұрын
Oil doesn’t go in the turbo tubes, it goes back in to the inside of the intake manifold and that’s where you don’t want it to go back to (inside the engine) no oil should go back to the intake that’s what the catch can helps you prevent

I put the shim between the main plate and the bedliner like you did. Wondering if I should cut the bedliner so the shim is flat against the metal part of the bed? Any thoughts on this vs just pacing the shim over the hole on the bedliner?

Very good video. Just bought a 18 Raptor and have been curious about this issue. I don't believe that I have it on my new used raptor. Glad to hear that its really not that serious and from the research that I have done, this is an issue that is fixed after a one time service. Other than this issue, it's a very solid engine.
