Great work man. We got a 6” chipper a couple years back to clear our building lot. Works great and my 25 hp Kubota can handle it with no problem.

I learned to play harmonica a few years back while driving…I was doing a job pretty far away and the commute every day was bogging me down, and coffee just wasn’t working anymore…I had a Hohner Special 20 sitting there in my truck that a buddy had given me, we used to jam together at local places…he was actually a brigadier general by day…blues jammer by night… So I picked up the harp and started messing around with it, and it kept me awake on the long drives! Hard to play guitar while driving, but harmonica, no problem! 😎

Black smiths will often hit the anvil in between hitting the hot metal to get a bounce back up. Once his arm muscles bulk up a heavier hammer will help too.

How long did the barn take?
@GillyCustomАй бұрын
@@TomTammyOffGridHomestead hard to say, because I was working on other projects at the same time, and this was built over an extended period. But I’d say between cutting the trees, milling the timbers, cutting the joinery, and erecting the barn I was probably at around 6-8 weeks or so of work. Thanks for watching!

@@GillyCustom do you have a mortise saw or did you use a mortise bit and chisel? Any Scarfe joints? We ave the same type of builds going.
@GillyCustomАй бұрын
I rough out my mortises with a chain mortiser, the clean them up with chisels & slick. No scarf joints on this particular building, but lots on the house frame, which will be featured in another video soon. Stay tuned for that one.
