so much love for you, nina. I'm so happy you're being cradled and cared for by your community. i find it so hard to accept help especially from my parents. but hey, i see that and I'm trying to reach out and be vulnerable because those who love me and who care for me would love to help. i just need to tell them how. ❤

thank you for this, for the honesty. Been dealing with neurodivegent burnout while trying to re-learn how to practice the things Iused to enjoy, all while feeling sadness and anger. You were able to speak things out loud that I have been trying to figure out how to verbalise for months. Again, thank you, thank you thank you. ♥

I am a journalist working on mental health issues and i really really love your videos (i've been following you for years now, back when you were living by a river, i think). I look forward to everyone of them as i know i would feel so good after watching it !! The topics you talk about in this one especially are so IMPORTANT and i find it very soothing to hear that on this platform where lots of people are promoting mental health as an individualistic thing and a way "to be a better version of themselves". It motivated me to write this comment (and i usually never do comment) and to be more mindful of the places where i can create or be part of communities <3 take care

Ive been feeling something similar lately how much responsibility and weight i put on myself for making my circumstances the way i want and when i fail it all feels like im not doing something well enough. And i realized i couldnt have done better with what i had and i stopped taking everything as my lack of competence. Also, i feel like shit every pms seasons and want to die badly and theres nothing positive about it or my life it feels lol and i dont think there has to be. I live in south korea where people kill themselves the most out of OECD countries. Every 1 in 3000 kill themselves here. And majority of people have depression here. And i just cant get it throu my head why EVERYONE isnt talking about every bad shit and how bad they feel and sharing it cus when i do i can find nobody to talk about these things when i know everyones going throu it looking at those stats. So im glad someone is talking about it the way it is :)

I love every single video you post Nina, but this one was truly special! Those last few minutes where you talk about community and being able to reach out for help when you feel alone, really hit home. Thank you so much for taking the time to create these beautiful videos whenever you can, it's very much appreciated ❤

Aside from the countless reasons why I love what you share on this channel, every time you share POC authors and most importantly glimpses of my homeland, Palestine, my heart just fills with so much love and gratitude ❤️‍🩹 Your “visual” journals always feel so healing to me, and discovering your channel this year was one of the best things ❤

I also think about this a lot! Is this a mental health issue or is my body reacting normally to a toxic world. Is it possible to "fix" myself without fixing my environment? I was also thinking about work and how it's such a predatory system where we are all very disposable and we have to fight every step to not have every single drop of ourselves squeezed out for the betterment of the economy or the betterment of the cooperation, so people who are already super rich and be even richer. I mean being in an environment like this and having to be actively alert and protect ourselves all the time, I'm surprised how anyone could stay healthy.

Thank u for this video. I’ve been going through plenty and thinking lots of community and how does one partake in it. Seeing your point about clubs inspired me and just seeing another fellow human trying comforted me too. Thank you for your videos and would love to know some more about the food boxes yall do (ie how it started, how it works, logistics) would love to see if this is something my neighbors or houses would like to do:

i recently moved out and i resonate deeply with the healing that comes from living communally. not because its easy or fuss free or perfect but because it helps me to unlearn old individualistic ways of being and relearn new ways of being entangled and interdependent with others, which is how we should be i think <3

Made me so happy to hear about the way you create a sense of belonging and care in your flat share and neighbourhood! I'm going on an about the importance of community all the time, or maybe rather my frustrations about the negative consequences of the lack of it. its so so important for our mental health, but we seem to have forgotten about it.

Love the video, thank you! Could you please teach us a bit more about how the veggie box co-op works? It's something that I always thought I'd love to implement in my city. How did it come to be? Does each household has a shopping list?

the Video I and we all just needed. I was thinking about it today, also how the more you think and talk about your problem the more bigger you might end up making it. Sometimes you need to go out there and help someone else or just don't do anything productive.

Clubs are how we build community :-) If you can find the book and like reading philosophy, the book bowling alone is a wonderful reflection on why and how clubs work for society and what also works against them (the deterioration of clubs more or less).

I am living communually atm and although it probably wont be so for ever, it taught me so much more than I could have imagined,; like (as you say as well) letting go of control. We have such an individualistic (capitalistic) mindset at times; thanks for showing another way pf looking at communities, be it friends or communal living etc.

ah!!! i loved this video so much. maybe it's my hormones (and so what if it is??) but I teared up when yu showed the shots of forests on your hike. and as someone who studied food justice, urban planning, and now practices applied theatre, i love hearing about organizing community care. it becomes hard to put theory to practice when you rarely see many case studies by people you "know" in your network (and when there's apparently insufficient government infrastructure to support community care networks for food security). ALSO, you're my book influencer, truly!! i have read/about to read books you recommended, including Healing Resistance, My Friends, and A Day in the Life of Abed Salama. just wanna share my appreciation of you and this vid <3 as a 28 yr old, your content is very nourishing!!
