Wonderful! Love the layers. I found a good recipe for payne's grey: The use of Prussian Blue and Permanent Alizarin Crimson with Yellow Ochre gives a harmonious balance of mixing properties. "This mixture results in a smooth, uniform wash, allowing a solid-toned black, and yet can still be pulled into the soft lilac direction in weaker, more transparent washes." 🖌🎨

What wonderful and innovative techniques! Thank you for sharing!! Especially the mark making with the crayons on deli paper... I am definitely going to try that. I've never heard of aquapasto but I will certainly check it out. By the way, a fews ago I watching a video about Nori paste and the artist mentioned using it on the gelli plate with watercolors. Unfortunately, she didn't demonstrate it but it's an intriguing idea.

Hi Trina, have you tried using the impasto medium for the acrylic paint? Thank you❤
@MixedMediaArtByTrina2 күн бұрын
I’m going to say you can’t use it with acrylic paint because the Aquapasto has gum Arabic in it which is the binder in watercolor paint. The binder in acrylic paint is a polymer emulsion. They aren’t compatible. However, there are tons of different acrylic mediums to thin, thicken and texturize acrylic paint. Hope that helps! 😍

@@MixedMediaArtByTrina There is an impasto medium for acrylics, i work mainly with acrylics. Did you try it in the past? ❤️ I am afraid it will be too thick on the geli plate
@MixedMediaArtByTrinaКүн бұрын
@@mistik_101 yes! Almost all major brands make impastos and other acrylic mediums. I wouldn’t use acrylic impasto on the Gelli plate. The only reason I tried it with watercolor was to make it thicker and to prevent it from beading up. Hope that helps! 😍

@@MixedMediaArtByTrinagreat play Trina! Thanks for sharing. Maybe try and use the Antipasto with a pallet knife as per recommended. Make really thick pallet knife textures and marks on the Gel plate ( Plastic non - sharpe of course) let it dry up on the plate and use a pull up wet layer? Just like peeps do with Acrylic. Maybe fun to give it a try. Also W&N have a Texture Medium that is beautiful to lay down on your paper then dry brush watercolour over it… I think you will love it.
