Theory idea: After Mario plays Doki Doki panic he goes to sleep and dreams that he is in the game.

I still remember my aunt teaching me how to speed run this game as a kid. I never beat bowser at the end but I could get to him in less than 2 hours. Love this game

34:02 I can feel those carts in my hands. I remember go karts or toy cars that felt like that in the late 90s and early 2000's.

You can see his thumb move in a peculiar right before placing the queen back. the card seems rather thick so it’s probably a clear plastic stand attached to the card. The 6 of spades also hits the plastic connector on the way out. Also if you look extremely closely at the end, you can tell the queen is sticking out in a weird way in front of the 7 as if it’s not lying fully flat.

I'm 48, suburban Chicago childhood. My elementary school (Booth Tarkington in Buffalo Grove, IL) converted an entire classroom into a "computer room" filled with Apple twos. I thought the game was engaging, but not as engaging as playing my music with my pals... which is how caP'n jazz came to be, and why Fallout 3 is still my favorite version of Oregon Trail.

My brother and I spent hours on weekends on dreamcast games. Such good memories :) As far as the machine itself goes, I like how small and compact it is, as it has gone through several moves and still is in good shape.

It was cool but I don't remember a single kid that had one that actually liked it and used it. These things were an enormous disappointment.

Is the original Oregon trail lost media? The program was deleted but saved in paper but then they rewrite it and add things, is the original ever been digitalised or is lost media now?

Back in the day we were gifted an old NES. Gyromite was one of the included games but there was no R.O.B. My brother and I played the two-player version plenty, and we thought it was an odd but fun game. Never even knew we'd been deprived such a iconic add-on! That being said, I dont think we really missed out. Interesting novelty, but so tedious! My brother filled in for R.O.B. just fine!

Nintendo delaying the Super Famicon is very similar to what is happening in the Switch console right now. They delayed the Switch 2 for a year due to launch titles and hardware production.

i played the Apple 2 version before 1985 where you just space bar to hunt. i almost failed 2nd grade playing this game so much! My 2nd grade teacher kind of encouraged bad behavior as she would move the bad kids to play The Oregon Trail until she calmed down. Once i recognized this i started acting bad just to play the game! In 1995 i downloaded the 1990 MS-DOS version to my Windows 95 & had a blast with the newer version. Need to explore the updated versions out there! What a great Documentary! This comment has died of Dysentery.

My mom worked at a preschool that was associated with my elementary school and was in the same building. So during the summers in the mid 90s I’d have to go to work with her and me and my friends who were also stuck at the school would spend all day in the computer lab playing Oregon Trail. We never had enough time to beat it in computer class during the school year. Eventually we ended up figuring out how to install games like command and conquer and age of empires and never looked back, but OT is still one of my best school memories.

I was 13 when the 32-bit era was going on. I was raised in a single parent household by my mom who didn’t believe in video games and refused to buy them or their systems. Matter of fact, she was very vocal about my even asking to go rent any games since we were too poor to buy any. My older sister was the one who bought me my NES, Genesis and ultimately my 32X. Like many, I was under the assumption it would be supported for years so that I wouldn’t need to upgrade to another entirely different system as I had just gotten my Genesis a couple years before; plus, you could still play your Genesis games. Asking for a PSX or waiting for a Saturn or N64 so soon after I got the Genesis seemed greedy and I felt they wouldn’t go for it anyway. Plus, I only could get 1 game a year. Once the 32X crashed and burned, new systems and games had essentially become out of the question, so I basically gave up home system gaming or “console gaming” as it’s called today, as a whole until I was in my late 30s and bought a PS4.

This game has no meaning to me growing up, despite the time period would align... I lived in a not small town in Canada on the East Coast, and this game may have been around, I dunno, but I honestly don't remember playing it or hearing about it. The game of choice back then on the commodore 64 and similar was Carmen Sandiego as the edutainment game of choice

Today it's so common to see a new generation of game systems come along, and while the NES to SNES wasn't the first time, it wasn't a common occurrence. So, while it's not shocking that some people would see it as an attack on their family finances, it's just good business. When one generation starts to wind down, it's time to look to a new one to spike sales.
