I would like to know what car you are working at? Is it a small 2,2 Diesel 4 cylinder, a 4 cylinder 2 Liter petrol, or a 3,2 Liter straight six petrol engine? Also, I have absolutely no idea of where to look for the drain plug on mine, nor the extra drain plug on the engine block (or a tube there of)? In your video, you show a very narrowed down movie shot of the radiator drain, but where is it? On the left side, right side, fromt of rear? Kind regards.

Unsure of the latter part of your question but that engine is the 3.2 i6, you can see the intake manifold with the 6 tubes headed into the engine and it looks the same as my 3.2

Do you always have to change the filter? Had a loosened drain plug so I had an oil leak. Should I just add oil

My wife's 08 LR2 just had this happen to hers. I'm ordering parts to fix it myself and wanted to see if you had to replace the Serpentine tensioner too or can you just bolt the new pulley to the existing tensioner? The part I'm talking about is LR004667. Also, did you end up replacing the Idler pulley (LR005993) which you say needs a special tool? Not sure if I should replace this or not?

To sum up viscosity in two ways: - A definition I learned in Marine Engineering is, 'a fluid's inherent resistance to flow at a certain temperature(usually calculated in kelvin). - You can also break it into basic physics units. Viscosity is a covered area, per time taken, multiplied by density; which is a certain mass per volume. So a Mass of fluid x Area covered(say the circular section of a pipe) / Volume of fluid passing over your reference Area in a given Time. I think though once you tell someone molasses and honey are viscous fluids, and water is not, they get the point intuitively lol. Awesome video!

Thanks for the video..very helpful to see that it uses a rubber gasket. Yes , fluid level should be checked warm,,at running temp ,, With the engine running at the time. Drain and fill usually takes about 3.1 litres.

The part you had a hard time with is a press fit, just give it a nice tugg and it will turn loose. The. To reinstall just line up the rubbers with the already installed hex bolts and push on firmly until it is seated

I have a 2008 HSE with 185k Miles. I love it, some minor issues here and there. A big issue was the transfer case at about 170k miles. I believe it was caused by using rubbish tyres. They still look great, I have taken care of her. Make sure to treat them nicely with maintenance and you will be ok.

Very good video, loosening the fill plug first in case of a problem you still have fluid in the diff rather than draining and not being able to re-fill. What could happen? Murphy's law of something breaking or stripping out.

Hey Ventre: You did not list the funnel brand. Looking for one that wide. Do you have a brand or link to that funnel? Also, you showed a nice video of removing and putting back the skid plate, but you did not video the really hard parts (like on how you routed the hose, how you opened and closed the radiator petcock valve). That's where the real hard fun begins -- and that's the part that should be on video. Have a 2012 LR2 and I tried to do exactly what you did. The radiator valve turns only about 90 degrees, and no fluid flows. The hose is not easily routable. Had to loosen the plastic mud guard over the left front wheel to route the hose. As far as getting to the radiator valve, had to remove the bumper liner and so on. The sections that were not on video are actually the hardest part of the job. Recommend having the camera rolling throughout the entire job. Not just when removing or installing the 6 bolts on the splash guard. And you would still have the incorrect mix in your system because you ran water through the system to flush out the old fluid. Better to add some "full concentration" fluid to balance coolant back to 50:50 mix. A cheap hygrometer test (less than $10 on amazon) would do the trick. I know this from the experience of flushing other cars exactly how you did it (which is not a bad way to do it). The only difference would be to add 1/2 to 1 full quart of pure concentrate to correct the mixture.

Nice Job, but corrosion needs to get some work out. I can recommend to brush all underbody with once boilef lienseed oil. Cheap but perfect. This oil is very small molecular particled und coats all so corrosion will be stopped at once. In Order tget the Surface quicker dried out you would need to boil it once and than paint or spray it. Easy almost no costs effective
