Ah yes... The Penalty System... My eternal foe. This game to me is a 8/10 for almost everything. And then this ridiculous AI "Race Steward" brings it down to a 1/10. Absolute atrocity!

I did 3 races last night in the A class series, I got spun out 3 times in one race, finished last but still finished but I went and played ACC, losing the will with FM due to the pathetic penalty system. Also Nick what setup are you using for wheel etc?

I always have a lot of fun at Homestead, it’s bussin, especially turns 2-8 and 11-13. Laguna Seca is goated, especially the full configuration, fight me. Maple Valley full is ok in fast cars, anything other than that especially reverse is whack. I find Silverstone the track sucks but produces great racing, to me mid. VIR is goated, challenging track and great racing, multiple very good layouts. Great video, subbed

I’ve recently adopted your strategy of starting from the back, or as close as I can. When I qualify I tend to be top 6 but after the first couple of corners and the shameful drivers usually find myself facing backwards anyway! I find it more enjoyable to watch the chaos unfold in front of me then get into some cleaner racing. Still baffles me how I’m pretty consistently S rated and around 4800 rated yet seem to end up in lobby’s with complete melts!

I was in a S rated lobby yesterday and out of 22 cars only 4 including myself were in something other than an audi it's has gotten ridiculous I was in a pugeot and managed a 5th from 20th so still not sure why everyone is picking the audi

I did my first race here the other day and tried a 1 stop in the Civic. Got down to a sliver of tyre left but still had enough to finish 3rd. It helps that because of the G920 brake pedal I brake earlier than needed so I'm not too aggressive with wear. Next time I'm going medium though because the time you gain by pitting once is not enough to counter the faster lap times.

Being hyperbolic is fine Nick, but if you were a wheelchair user (and given we are about to have an Olympics) would that make you parabolic? The higher resolution looks good, saw the frame rate before you mentioned the upgrades and wondered what you had changed, thanks for the explanation and the usual solid race and presentation. Another like button smashed.

It's a love/hate relationship with this game. I really like the driving in Forza. But once you race online, the crazy drivers just "drive" (pun intended) me up a wall. For every respectfull drive you'll find in an online race, you'll find 10 reckless children that think "rubbin is racin" applies. Case in point, Nick gets punted to narnia at the 5:02 mark of the video. The car who pushed him got a 2.25 second time penalty for the collision. But Nick gets sent to 9th place and loses about 7 seconds to the race leader, which is more than ufortunate, it's unfair.

I've mentioned this before, but the addition of the Radar, although a great idea, is not really the reason why accidents were so rampant in FM. It's because many drivers don't care about a time penalty; so what if they get a 5 second penalty for a collision when they can get a podium finish anyways and send you as much as 25 seconds down the pack? Start dealing out position penalties for collisions. When people realize that they may end up dead last even though they barged their way to a top 3 on track, they'll start to actually drive like civilized people.
