could this be used with parallax occlusion to offset the depth? i know ue5 can do this, but idk if this is possible by masking the blend by clipping the mask with an alpha mask.

Wen exporting a obj from daz to blender use 1% on scale, if exporting the of from blender to daz use the scale 10,000%. This way you keep the same size on both programs.

Have you ever been able to replicate more or less the same rendering you get out of Daz Studio in Blender? I invested into AMD hardware out of support, but sadly Daz doesn't really support AMD so I must export to Blender for renders. I will apply your lovely work here as it is much better than what you get out the box, but just curious if it is much more work to get a similar lighting setup (I'm a materials/lighting noob in Blender, always done the modelling and animation work and let someone cleverer figure out the materials)

Thanks for the tutorial! I was using this method, but now for some reason I'm getting just a black screen when I do a viewport render, but only in Render Preview mode, material preview, solid, and wire work fine. The regular render works fine as well, but when I save the image, how do I save only the mist pass? It saves the Combined, but the mist pass isn't there, or it's not accessible. Even if I'm looking at the mist pass when I save, it still saves the color version.

Looks nice. But is there a definite way to get rid of the jagged shadow edges (using sunlight)? I know it's possible on Maya's Arnold but couldn't manage to achieve the same sharp lined shadow perfection with Blender yet. 😟

Excelent video man, I just want to add something. I was having problems with the hair and eyelashes because I wasn't able to see the transparency. The problem was that the alpha image texture was connected from the Alpha plug (out) to the Principled BSDF Alpha plug (in). Remember to connect the COLOR plug (out) from the alpha texture to the Alpha plug (in) of the BSDF. Hope this information can help someone struggling.
