Hmm... you'd have to redo this with all bottles coming from the fridge. When used in cocktails, it will be chilled, and you'd have to choose your vermouth based on its chilled taste. Sweetness falls back then and dryness gets a boost...

Giffard and Massenez both make very good Elderflower Liqueurs. Very close if not better than ST. Germain. Of course, they're both about the same price, too, unfortunately. If you're in/near Boston, and have a wholesale account,(and I think you might considering the environs) they are available through Horizon and MS Walker, respectively.

I was recently gifted a bottle of New Amsterdam Original. I found it heavy on the ethanol, and it set my mouth and chest on fire. Being a London Dry drinker, Beefeater is my go-to, I purchased a bottle of New Amsterdam London Dry. Again, heavy ethanol nose and taste, and heavy on the burn. I am blending the two New Amsterdam products, and mixing with tonic water and lime, just to get to the bottom of these bottles. To each, their own, I guess. Cheers.

The dry curaçao allows you to sweeten the drink as you prefer. Sometimes I add an ounce of white Creme de cacao to my margarita cocktail. Or peach brandy.

You’re all doing a disservice to the rum lifestyle. BUT, Doctor Bird is glorious. It’s like Smith & Cross in that it’s a fancy, overproof, lightly aged Jamaican rum. But it’s a very different flavor profile, with more mango, dessert flavors, and a bit of floral. It makes the best Jamaican Dark n Stormy. I’d keep both on my bar shelf, for different reasons.

You can control how much CO2 goes in there. So if you set it very low and just enough to push it, it shouldnt be carb.

The last time I made a cocktail that incorporated a wash of any kind was when I made your s'mores cocktail and that was delicious. However, the process of washing was reeeeaally messy and a little tedious so I'd be interested in an alternative method to get those flavors into a drink (in this case, the fruity pebbles).
@carl_busch2 ай бұрын
I get that for sure. I think the more you do it, the less messy it gets, also the marshmallow fluff is just messy in general. LOL Tedious is for sure something that is just part of it. I personally like doing these things with headphones in and in my own little world.

Carl. Great video. Have you considered laying the micron or nut milk bag into a basket colander so it can be lifted out and removed easily while keeping its shape? It would seem that having an easily removable “frame” for the bag would make the transfer easier without disturbing the curds as much…🤔

Dont use Disaronno! First of all, it isnt even a Amaretto (it uses peaches in the recipe, as well as almonds). It's way better with real amaretto.
@carl_busch2 ай бұрын
But it says it's amaretto on the back of the bottle. Also where I live there is really know other amaretto choices. There are like 3 total.
@JuicyDjeusse2 ай бұрын
@@carl_busch Disaronno stopped labeling their brand as "Amaretto" a few years back. Its possible that you still have a bottle from that time where it says amaretto, however, if you bought it now, it shouldn't be labeled as "amaretto". I get that in some countries Disaronno is the only option, and its fine btw! However, if you can get your hands on other amaretto's, you'll see the difference ;)
@JuicyDjeusse2 ай бұрын
@@carl_buschmore researching this topic, it seems like it is a real discussion whether it is an amaretto or not. Im not quite sure now, but I do know that Disaronno uses other ingredients than other amaretto's, who focus more on the almond flavour.

You folks should try the original Evan Williams Honey with the new one with the orange label across the bottom. Evan Williams Honey is the only thing I've been drinking for the last several years. This new version with the orange label on the bottom sucks. The woman in the liquor store warned me that it wasn't the same recipe, and that people had been complaining about it. I purchased a half gallon anyway. It sucks. It's like being a Pepsi lover and discovering the last bottle of Pepsi you bought tastes like Coke, and is totally flat. No one will be buying this after they taste it. I hope they are saving plenty in production. And I hope it's enough to make putting one of the nicest flavored bourbons down the drain, which is just where this half gallon is going.
