My grandfather loved Grandma ..their love story was talked about all the time ..They were rich basically so he pampered her ..treated her as an equal and shared his estate management with her in a time where women were treated like objects..One time when one of our neighbors who was a doctor was getting married ..She was visiting so she attended the wedding with us ..after the wedding she told me that she was baffled that a woman who worked especially a doctor would marry ..I asked why not ..She said because in her old days women married because they needed to eat , dress and basically live ..without a husband , a woman was lost ..but now you can work and have money and security..I was shocked reminding her of how much grandpa loved her ..She said that she was lucky , many aren't ..and she told me to study hard and work hard and only marry for love and not to succumb to pressure ..Even now , after years of her passing , whenever my mom would bring up suitors or traditional marriage proposals , I remind her of my Grandma's words ..She may not have been a victim of her husband but she was aware that what she had with him was rare

Just so she could escape my grandfather , who beat her for years ! Damn !

In reply to the woman at around 14:20: The only chance we have of wrangling any of the money and power back from the 1% is by denying them the ever-increasing pool of workers and consumers they rely on to see record profits every quarter. Saying that we need to focus on the 1% instead of telling poor people not to have kids they can't afford is ridiculous because those kids- those future laborers and consumers- are their ONLY source of power over us. So yes, telling poor people to stop having kids is the only way we CAN focus on dismantling this 99%/1% system we're living (slowly dying) under. I've seen videos of women in African villages doing the cooking, cleaning, fetching water, minding the children, working in the fields, selling fruit and vegetables at the market. And for all of their wives labor, the husband can't even provide a decent home with electricity, a toilet that flushes, and running water. But he can sit under a tree to drink and play games with other husbands. No, I won't submit to that. Submission is supposed to be mutual.

You could be building close friendships and community ties with emotionally healthy men and women and experiencing the happiness that comes from that. You could just up and decide one day to actually care about something or someone besides yourselves. *If men put all the energy they waste policing us into policing themselves and being good humans, maybe we wouldn't be arming and funding an actual holocaust right now,* on the brink of two nuclear wars total and societal collapse while the most murderous empire in human history-- built and run by men-- is about to burn down entire planet. But instead you're here doing this. And THAT, fellas, is why women want absolutely nothing to do with you anymore.
