If you used the Baked Soda , Vinegar and the drill, you would have achieved the same result

what I use is a random copper sheet thingy, that I flattened on one side and sort of sharpened on some sandpaper, the copper being softer than glas, made me think I could just simply scrape the glass clean and I was right.

it ssounds scary but razor blades are used to scrape paint of off windows and hardened tempered steel is definitely harder than copper.

I was very sceptical about this method, but to my amazement, it works fantastically. Excellent hack, thank you. Just mind your fingers on the hot soleplate!

I am a cleaner and we pretty much do the same for floors once a year at work, we scrub the surface layer down a tiny bit and polish the floor to look like brand new. Deeper scratches will never go away with some easy fix or whatever, you can make it cleaner to hide the scratch a little bit but the scratch is still there. Very deep scratches need to be repaired.

When I was a projectionist using carbon arc rods for the light source, we used Bon Ami to remove the debris from the mirrors. Dry first, then mixed with a little water to make a paste. Bon Ami will not scratch glass and will remove anything from the glass with enough rubbing. Even burned on sugar can be removed this way.

This is BRILLIANT if you NEVER want to use your iron again. Takes everything off including the surface.

Amazing! It worked so well. I gripped the paracetamol in a pair of old tweezers because ovengloves are too bulky. Only thing is: if paracetamol can clean burns on irons so well, what on earth does it do when it's inside us ?🙄🙄

Well the polish filled the scratches, but what's it going to do when you switch the stove back on?

Pity you didn't take the drill and buffer to the top with the bicarb and lemon, or vinegar. You might have got the same result.

You are using filtered water. Your BRITA water filter removes ALL the limescale, that's why there's no deposit in your kettle. It's not free !

Amazing! It did remove some of the coating but I have been dealing with burnt fusible interfacing for two days and no other method has worked. Though having seen what this little pill can do to a burnt iron and ceramic coating, I won't be taking Tylenol anytime soon. 😂

Still limescale on the element, which should be a shiny silver as new, as for the floor of the kettle. Now... In an empty kettle flood the element and kettle floor with only white/clear vinegar. Let it work for about three minutes then SCRUB gently with a washing up brush, steel scourer, until the calcium is gone. IF your calcium is still on after that, you have more aggressive calcium/or just more, in your water So. Boil 1 cup of water with half cup of same vinegar which makes calcium come off more. 2-3 times should have it like new if you scrub as before AFTER the boil (careful to let it cool for a minute or two after boiling. Waters vary, your water has more or less calcium than other locations. More = more build up in your boiler and kettle (if the municipal water goes in there). Aluminium/Titanium/steel rods (anode) rods are used in boilers these days to prolong the life of your water boilers. A couple of decades ago, people started using those metal scourers (like the current vileda's 'Glitzi' scouring balls), but they were tiny back then, purely for the kettle, doing the same job as a boiler anode rod, which is to absorb the heavy calcium deposits and keep your kettle looking new. So - it's in the water - if you keep putting 'hard' water in your kettle, your going to have to keep the kettle scourer IN, or clean your kettle every evening/week, according to your build up. Forgive my mistakes, I don't have a certificate of the academic kind, only life experience and being human just like you all.

My best method is using a single edge razor and very gentle scrape the surface. You can add a few drops of water the grime will come off and keep wiping off the grime from the razor. It works just be gentle

This worked perfectly. But do take the advice and wear gloves or use something to hold the tablet - that iron plate gets awfully hot, trust me on that one. I just found out :) Ice cubes at the ready :)

Thank you it worked! I tried a few times but it works best if i leave the iron on medium heat. It took 4 tablets total to get the gunk off. Theres a slight brown stain remaining though.
