I think Free likes to mess with other peoples saddlebags just for content. LOL! Messed with Jeff's out in Sturgis and now this poor guy. I will be locking mine next time we meet up. LOL j/k Looked like a great time with Adam and the convoy. Wish I hadn't had plans already because I would have loved to have gone with you guys.

Why get rid of a classic bike like that VTX 1300c??? The debate between VTX1300 and VTX 1800 in my mind is silly. Two completely different bikes. Nothing wrong with having both classics. I'm thinking you will regret letting the VTX1300c go, so just keep it!!!!!

What it do get me a VTX 1800 just put me a 200 tire on the back got me a bat wing I'm about to hook up my stretch saddlebags I'm going to copy your system I done got my brackets in man I've been a solo artist but this is like my 20th bike I got four right now play some riding buddies hook up with we can be the VTX bandits. Call mine purple rain cuz it's purple with blue flake I'm hollering at you from M town Memphis

What’s your fuel mileage compared to the Harley? I heard you say you carry a small gas can.

@jletkeman5221 The light comes on around 100 miles but I stretched it to 143 just cruisin back roads. When the light comes on, i usually have about a gallon and a half left.

Great information! I’ve got a 2003 VTX 1800 that makes a weird vacuumy rattling sound under, or inside the gas tank at 1500 to 1900 RPM’s. Above 1900 RPM’s the sound goes away and it runs perfect. Idles perfect too. Any ideas??

I would remove the tan and check all lines , could just be the chrome tank cover, the front sometimes rattle.

Just something to look out for .... If your bike is not stock. My lower posts (19mm)are not the same size as the top(16mm) . I think my lower posts were not OEM parts as the shocks weren't either. I wish I knew that when I ordered the bushings though.... I could have ordered the lower posts then too , now I will have to wait another week to fix it. I will also have to switch back to to oem shocks too because even if I wanted to keep the slammer shocks on there , I don't know where to find the correct bushings for the bottom . It was looking pretty sweet too hopefully the height difference doesn't throw off the lines of my bags too bad.

You’re lucky in re to the mice getting in your bike! My Concours 14 had mice chew through part of the wiring harness, cost me $1500 to get it back to running! Since then, I keep a small slit baggie with moth balls under the seat. They don’t like that smell

I don't know but it seemed like a very lame event and it gets more that way as time goes on. Most folk walk around like zombies looking at stuff they have no clue about. I went for the first time in 4 years last Thursday and Saturday. It was alright enough. I rode my load FXLRS through the boulevard, parked it, bought a $20 meal combo(Italian sausage sub and a coke). The thing is this: I only live 6 miles from it and I could almost care less. Yet, people come from hundreds of miles away to attend. The majority of them don't even ride here, they trailer or rent bikes. This event and maybe most other events are getting old enough to die IMO. Sad but true. Those people are not bikers...they're spectators. I'd really like to see the focus refocused on motorcycle racing...not the gypsy vendor crap.

No drag racing track , expensive tickets to see racing at the speedway during designated times , it's basically a massive trade show wherever u go with someone trying to sell u something . However their is cool entries for free into the large tent , concerts , midget wrestling , bikini , hot leg contests , biker build offs , and massive riding back roads , free demo rides etc . U should go

Was there last weekend ( June 7th to the 11th ) not as crowded as i would like it, being the first weekend and all, but still and awesome time!! Wish I was back there right now!! Wad up brother. I finally got mine on...... but..... my bike is lowered and my custom fender sits lower as well . So with everything lower my right side bag is only about 2 - 2.5 inches above the exhaust. Haven't been out for a test ride yet to see if it melts . What do you think, should I be worried????

No worries at all, Jeffs road glide sits about an inch or less from his bags, and no melting. Mine are like 4.5 inches away.
