I know right?!?! Figured I needed to update on this one since I've put some rounds through it finally and added the cheap light as a test of those... I gotta pick up some more rounds for this thing!! It is a good shooter!!! I figured putting the light on the 357 Sig was a decent test to see if recoil would damage it.

I'm running a Rise Armament charging handle on one of my other PSA builds (video coming on that soon hopefully), and their EPT (enhanced polished trigger)... I'll say I do prefer the EPT over the one on this unit. I'm going to try out the PSA 3.5lb trigger upgrade and probably a drop in unit or two on other "builds". I say builds because it has been cheaper to buy assembled uppers and lowers it seems from PSA than doing them myself in pieces, lol. I'm blown away at the prices they offer some of this stuff at!!!

@herdogoats I went with the 2.5lb trigger that PSA offered. Caught it on sale at a great price and the nickel boron bcg and timber creek charging handle.. again PSA always has great sales so I took my time and did the upgrades.. HAPPY SHOOTING.. can't go wrong with this rifle.. IRON front sight is spot on..

@@D1TB I LOVE the one I just assembled... really cool setup, went with a "shorty" pistol build with a 10.5", MOE handguard, carry handle/iron sights setup, and slapped a clone 4x20 optic, where I can still use irons or the scope. Maxim Defense CCS... just a REALLY sweet setup. It reminds me of a special forces look Vietnam era unit... and I dig it!!

As usual, a lot of guys wanted this gun because of Miami Vice. Sonny Crockett carried this gun in Seasons 3 and 4 of the series. He carried a Bren Ten 10mm in Seasons 1 and 2 and a S&W 4506 in Season 5. I wanted a Bren Ten with a passion in 1985 but didn't have $2,000.00 laying around my tiny one bedroom apartment in '85 😆😆😆 But I managed to save a few bucks here and there and was able to buy a S&W Model 645 in 1986. And believe it or not, I still have it 😊 This gun has never given me a bit of trouble... Except for the little Hexagon screw on the safety. It always came loose on me!!! Other than that, I have zero complaints. One cool factor about this gun is that you can load spent shell casings in the magazine and the gun will still cycle them 😊

That's almost exactly what I gave for this mint, formerly unfired 30 year old example! I've had a few Tanfoglio variants, solid guns for sure, but the early P9's were assembled in Springfield's Custom shop which is a nice touch, under Les Baer for a couple years there. The Tanfoglio slides and barrels all seemed to interchange fairly closely with the Springfield and other Tanfoglio, sans one Tanfoglio slide assembly that was slightly oversized compared to the other frames.

I too just bought a 915 on GunBroker recently; I just love this pistol. As a GenX guy, I really got into guns back in the 90's as this gun is emblematic of those early "wonder 9s" and I had to have one of them...especially with all the plastic guns of the day (says this Glock fan). I also don't like that magazine safety, but I plan to remove that spring actuator on that (from the slide) and resolves that issue, while you can always just put it back in.
@herdogoats
@herdogoats 4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I may "remove" that feature as well, at least on some of this series of pistols. The ones I carry or shoot frequently anyway. I was fortunate to pick up a 669 and a 5906 a few weeks ago, and LOVE both of them!!! I'm like you, growing up in the 90's as a teenager I just LOVED these things, spent HOURS looking at them in Handgun magazines!! Currently, if you don't mind a surplus condition piece, these are one of the best deals on the market, this series of S&W semi autos!

One of the most unappreciated series of pistols out there. Sig and Beretta got all the attention in the late 80s and early 90s and then the Glock hit the market. Nothing negative to say about them but the 3rd gen S&W autos got shoved to the side. Glad to see all the attention and admiration the 3rd gen S&Ws autos are getting now. They are fantastic firearms that deserve recognition as the equal of any other auto pistol of that era and they are just as effective as any pistol out there now.

Hard to beat these days.

Those do feel the best in hand! I went to buy one of those ,decock,right after rammi was discontinued.had one of those in stock too. For some reason I wound up leaving there that day with a 365xl. ..had been looking for one of those too.they were putting 2 in the case at the moment i was about to decide on the czs. & noticed a guy behind me kinda elbowing in towards the sigs. I asked for both of them to try the triggers. Read they “varied wildly “gun to gun. 1 was better. & your not the only one that is a certain way about serial #s. Ive picked between 2 identical guns before & over looked at scratch or whatever,just for a number that appealed more. Like your recessed S&W s. The 13…was it the light it my eyes or was the face of the cylinder a touch wavy. It looked like it was. Between cylinders..help loading with speed loaders. If they aren’t msde that way. Maybe they should be.?. I don’t use speed loaders often, but it may help…want a early Kimber K6s blue rubber & ramp. The markings are nicer than the laser etched stuff. Anyhow. Could go on and on. Take care.

@@wbwills2 There are a couple of good shops in Monroe, we've got Cardone Arms, Anton Arms, Monroe Gun & Pawn, American Gun & Pawn. Anton doesn't deal in much used stuff based on what he told me last time I was in there, Cardone takes consignments so they have some interesting stuff come in from time to time, and the other two have a pretty good variety and certainly have some older stuff come in as well! There are a few shops that have closed over the years, due to relocation or the owner passing away.

Awesome!!!! I have got to get at least a hundred yard range set up on the property out by my shop. I can't wait to get more rounds through this rifle, but shooting it at about 30-40 feet max is fun, but I'd like to do at least some 100 yard shooting on the family property. We sold our old property with 7.3 acres last year, so I lost my range I had spent a few years building, and I miss it BADLY!!! For now I'm having to use something that is really only suitable for pistols or shotgun and confirming rifles work. I can't really do any accuracy shooting out at distance, but I can do some closer in drills and do some basic sighting in on optics on a few of my rifles with the space and backstop I have now. I like that you're getting the bipod and handle, both are a nice touch, and the bipod would be really useful on this thing.
