Nice idea with the Irish moss wasn't aware of that. Probably not according to Reinheitsgebot but hey it's fine

Hi Anthony (from 5 years ago) I bought a G30 V2 about 12 months ago and am finally ready to do my first all grain brew. The instructions that came with my GF did not really explain how to set the overflow pipes up. Your video is the first that I have found that was of any help. Cheers. Sub and like well earnt, I will check out your other videos.

this is the first video I've seen where someone just let the wort cool naturally. I've always felt bad about the water waste of using my wort chiller. I think I want to go this route. less water waste and less stuff I have to keep around the house. thanks for sharing.

Loved the video, took away the anxiety us newbies may feel (I did) due to the sometimes exact demands on other brewing videos. The relaxed approach was reassuring.

Hello how are you? Can I set the temperature to 20 degrees or 18? It is for the first stage of fermentation, then during maturation I will lower it to approximately 5 degrees.

So currently the Ss Brewtech glycol chillers are out of stock and have been for a while in the UK. I have a 7 gal unitank with the FTSs heating pad and controller but i’m unsure if i’d be able to use the G20 as it has it’s own pump to circulate the glycol and a temperature probe. The FTSs already has a temperature probe and only has a port for the pump. I’m stuck on solutions on how i can have both heating and cooling to switch and maintain a stable temperature without getting an Ss Brewtech glycol chiller where you put the FTSs pump inside the chiller. I am aware the G20 has a way of being able to heat as well but i’m not sure what i’d need and what’s compatible for it. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Hi LM, to be honest it's usually better to wait for the correct and compatible components to come in stock. Jerry-rigging stuff together can just be a pain sometimes. Having said that, if you're looking to get the G20 to do the glycol chilling, you could easily put the FTSs submersible pump inside the G20 unit (you can access the tank directly via a ~3" hole at the top). For heating I'd use the FTSs too, as the G20 does not have any heating capability. Hope this helps :)

Hmmmm $1000 glycol chiller or a $50 used mini fridge ?
@chop13bt
@chop13bt 2 жыл бұрын
Retail price is $599 and many people don't have room for a fermentation fridge that will fit a standard fermenter (most mini fridges will not fit a decent fermenter due to the compressor bulge in the bottom of the fridge). So there's that.

@@chop13bt I think a unitank and a glycol system takes up more room then a soda cooler. That’s just my opinion. 2 items take up more then just one

Can you make a beer fermenter out of a similar stainless steel pot you had for you DIY kettle
@Handles-R-Lame

How would you seal the pot would be one of the concerns. But ive seen SS fermentation containers, they are usually conical(not always) and are much easier to keep sanitary because most of the fittings aren't threaded but welded. So the material isnt an issue if that in your concern, but i dont believe a pot would generally work to ferment in. But what do i know? 🤷‍♂️ Also im curious as to if you were asking to use the pot to boil and to ferment all within the same vessel? Or just to ferment in alone.

I’m new to brewing and still working off starter kits. But when it comes to brewing, isn’t it bad to leave the lid on? I thought when the liquid condenses on the lid it could fall back into the wort or mash and contaminate it?
