The front wedge was done poorly. Created a Dutchman that prevented the smooth closing of the notch.

Why did you exit around the back of the stump, that's dangerous. 😅

How is it a hidden danger if he makes it happen ? it looks like that would have been very easily avoided. Of course things are going to go bad if you do it stupidly

I find if when holding the saw to your side and not directly in front of you, one has more of a chance when kick back occurs, or when has to drop the saw and run.
@FINNISHLUMBERJACKКүн бұрын
Why would you drop the and run?
@rickmalaschenko3046Күн бұрын
@FINNISHLUMBERJACK some days things just don't go right , & if it's the saw or you., ffffck the saw. I know of quite few professional loggers , who have been killed over the years , and their professionals or maybe they're 🤔 luck ran out. How many close calls , have you had .
@FINNISHLUMBERJACK23 сағат бұрын
@@rickmalaschenko3046 I agree, s*it happens when luck runs out. I also know, that luck follows good skill and high quality gear

A very good point he makes for when bar nose kicks back. When limbing a downed tree however I like to keep the saw at a distance as I almost cut my leg recently by being close up to it.
@rickmalaschenko3046Күн бұрын
Hold the saw firmly, to you side , and wear protective chaps, it will save you a trip to er. Just be aware of the tip , the only time you should be using the tip, should be for a bore cut. Goodluck and always were glasses.

Make notch shallower , no more than 30% of the tree diameter, but 100deg wide…that will leave you more wood behind the hinge to insert wedges to lift the tree better.
@FINNISHLUMBERJACK2 күн бұрын
I prefer <100deg angle

I hate it when people put wheelbarrows in random places. Good job watching the tree while it fell, don't turn your back and walk away. It's a bad habit to get into. Nice job.
