I am starting to manufacture it on a commercial basis. Thanks for a wonderful idea.. we have been having electricity shortage for many years, and we have experienced 8 to 12 hours load shedding . This will be a blessing with solar panels to many .

I made a prototype to cool water without compressor, it reduced water temperature to 22 degree. Now I don't know how to cool air by indirect air cooler? I don't know which Material or mechanism will work on it ? Please suggest me.

How much difference between water temperature and cold air temperature?

I love the simplicity of this, I would cover the inside of the whole base with a thin layer of aluminium or steel sheet. This would help heating up & with your enclosure the thin metal sheet would hold heat for longer. This design gives me ideas for making 3 or 4 of these hung on the side of a house, giving an increased simple water hearing system. I have to say VERY well done, I shall have to go and wash the green with envy off my face though.:)

How much energy did you use just to cool down the body? You had ice and water from the start. Take a ice bath.

These are only really any good for heating a small 30cm x 30cm box. Look at it this way, 1 tea light candle puts out about 80w. A human puts out about 100W.

If you boxed in the heat exchanger so you can pull all the air to the fan it would be more efficient.

I made one of these for a shed, it keeps it from being 120 degrees during the day, when the day is 100 degrees it will be 100 degrees in the shed instead of 120.

I've used your #4 Super Cooler idea. What happens is the fan shorts out, especially if it's a cheap box fan you buy at Walmart. Instead of such the moist air through the fan it's best to direct the airflow by "pushing" it across the pads or towels.

Would this cool a general aviation cockpit like a Cessna 182 or a Piper Cherokee? The cockpit is, I think, a little smaller than an auto sedan interior. If I were to build it, I would plug the power source into the cigarette lighter, which is on a 10 amp fuse.

I'm thinking.use your trans cooler as in this video. If you have a 12vdc travel refrig freezer.put your cooling lines through the horizontal hatch cover with a type heat exchanger in the cooler. How much water do you put in the bucket to supply your chill lines? Any ideas.

So is it a swamp cooler? What is it? Does throw it humidity back into the air?
@desertsun02
@desertsun02 3 күн бұрын
hi. it's definitely not a swamp cooler. the term 'swamp cooler' is just another name for an 'evap cooler'. evap coolers are a type of air cooler that cool the air with 'wet padding' (but they don't use any ice). the 'ice based' air coolers are called 'phase-change' air coolers. they cool the air when the ice changes from a solid to a liquid. the ice doesn't turn into a gas though (it just melts into a liquid) so the 'ice based' air coolers don't add humidity to the air. (they just cool it)

I have a 12' Radiator Fan 12 volt 80 watts and a 12 volt diving water pump 17 watts connected to a 12 volt battery 18 amp hr and 100 watt flexible solar panel.. And ideas why it discharges battery while running the fan? The panel is supposed to keep the battery charged while running fan is it not?
@desertsun02
@desertsun02 3 күн бұрын
hi. this is just a guess but the fan is probably pulling just over 6 amps and the solar panel is probably only producing 4 or 4.5 amps. also the pump too. so even though the wattage rating of the panel is higher than the wattage draw of the 2 items, the amp output of the panel is lower than what the 2 items need.

@@desertsun02 thx I'll try adding another 100 watt panel.. I was trying to space out the few panels for other things and not tie up 2 panels to 1 fan.. hopefully 2 panels can run fan and pump while keeping battery charged without having to add a 3rd

hi and thanks! temp of water 'in and out' will vary depending on temp of the air in the room and how fast you run the fan. i usually get several hours of runtime before i need to add more ice (varies with amount of ice, used, size of the ice blocks, starting temp. of the room air etc.).

Keep the upper bottle where the distilled water collected in the shade or covered by a very white cloth. Put mirrors or reflective objects reflect more sunlight at lower bottle. The lower bottle carrying the dirty water should have a very black cloth underneath it.
