Are the 4 into 4 exhaust pipes stock? I thought it came with 4 into 2 exhaust.

@davidrome9 күн бұрын
There's a separate exhaust video, but I didn't have a multi-mic setup that would allow you to hear anything but the wind noise that the go-pro picked up while filming the review.

I have a 2013 CB1100 and coming from my younger crotch rocket years I can say this is a joy to ride and perfect for my age now. I have owned many many bikes since 12 yrs old, first real proper motorcycle was a 1974 750H2 and went to other crotch rockets over my life. I owned a Honda Nighthawk 550 in the early 90's for a while and it was so nice and smooth that from there I didn't really go back to the crotch rocket/sportbike config. Got the middle age bug and wanted a bike really bad this year and found a low mileage CB1100 and am glad I did, it's a tame beast that will get you down the road if you need to and will pull you along at low revs through town.

Excellent review. I love the look at this bike and love the quality Honda motorcycles. It’s a bit big for me perhaps too big. I’m a very experienced rider however, I’m a small guy 5’6 155lbs. Curious if there are some inexpensive modifications to accommodate lowering it just a bit. Thanks

I dislike that they have de-tuned these motors so much over the years on the CB1100 series Bikes..The 82 to 84 model CB1100F made 109BHP. They were 20 pounds lighter and had a 5.3 gal fuel tank.. The CB1100s past 2000 are down about 20 HP and they weight more with a smaller tank..No matter what I love the platform!!!
@kingbeat1013 ай бұрын
Had a 1983 CB1100F that made quite a bit more power weighted 20 pounds less and had a bigger gas tank 5.3..I don't think I would be happy with this de-tuned version..However I'm glad they kept it going..

I really enjoyed your old CB1100EX video. This one felt a bit short and sweet. I'd love a bit more of an in depth review as you get more miles on the speed twin. Maybe just going over any little irks you might have as well as favorite things about it.

Do your front brakes squeal? Vibration at 4300 rpm? Rear tail light rattles? I just bought one and am told live with it.
@iamheero4 ай бұрын
>Rear tail light rattles - No, that's not normal.
@dougw76486 ай бұрын
I have the same bike. I have 3 complaints. (1) Front Brakes Squeal coming to a stop enough to scare small children (2) Vibration at 4300 rpm and (3) Rear tail light rattles. On the forums there is no fix to any of these issues. You don't mention any of this. Do you have the unicorn without these quirks?
@davidrome6 ай бұрын
My brakes did have a small squeal at very low speeds and light pressure, but it was MOSTLY resolved with application of a little copper anti-squeal compound to the back of the pads. It was not a big deal, and my new 2022 Speed Twin's brakes are even worse. No particular vibration or tail light issues, I think yours may be the unicorn given I've never heard anyone complain about them. They should be easily resolved, the tail light assembly isn't complicated, I'd screw down whatever was loose, maybe find what's vibrating and ensure the gasket is properly placed (or place one).

I have a 2023 V7 Stone and it's been bulletproof so far. The build quality is what draws a lot of people to Moto Guzzi. Whereas Royal Enfield, Triumph, Ducati, etc. have outsourced the production of certain models of theirs to other countries, Guzzis remain 100% Italian-made.

Glad to see you're ok after wrecking the 2014! Thanks for the video- from a guy not cross shopping brands, but shopping these two years specifically. Man I just wish Honda had put that silver tank stripe on the 2017- I'm so drawn to the 2014 red tank over the 2017. 2014 in black is so sharp as well. Still undecided but this video was very helpful. Safe riding!

Thanks for this video. I recently traded my 2014 CB1100 for a 22 Triumph Speed Twin 1200. While I love the Triumph, I miss the CB. I did a lot of modifications to my 14 CB, and I heard you say if you plan on that, go with the 14. After riding it more, would you still say that? Cause I prefer the tank and seat of the 17. And the LCD screen looks clear, clean, and beautiful imo. Not sure if it’s better than the 14’s, but I love it. Let me know what you think. There are many more 14’s available on the aftermarket than 17’s. But I’d pay the extra money for a better bike. Do I wish it was 15lbs less? Yes. But oh well. Thanks!
@iamheero4 ай бұрын
I'm in the same position! I have the 22 Speed twin as well, just posted my 1yr owner's review. I still think if you're going to mod, go for the older bike. If you're keeping the tank, seat, and lights... I wouldn't consider the modifications significant, and then you should get whatever tickles your fancy. I miss my CB!

Very surprised you didn't comment on the different-shaped fuel tank. I can't really tell from images I've seen, but the "new" shape doesn't look nearly as good as the old, and it's far less in keeping with the original CB750. Thoughts? Thanks.
