What a BEAST! No silly electronics, no frills, raw power tractor. These were the days when you had to pay attention to everything and not rely on gadgets to alert you to inconsistencies!

70 series was the best Deere 4wd , and the 8970 takes the cake. I have an 8770 I bought new in '96, and probably will be buried with it as a head stone.

You need to come back to the area, we have several professional farmers in the area that are all excellent operators. The farm shown here has been around a very long time and are legends in the farming community. The operator of the 8970 in the video is a really nice guy - everyone working at this farm are all hard working talented people, we are glad they’re in our community!

When putting a new tire on where there's duels, you always install the new tire on the inside. That applies to trucks, tractors, etc. It's easier on the bearings of the vehicle.

Why would you need 24 forward and 6 reverse gears in a tractor sounds way over calcauted to me
@buddymartin7923
@buddymartin7923 28 күн бұрын
More gears (if it's a good strong transmission) is always better. The new cv transmissions are adjustable at 1/10 of a mph. ....you don't have to lug the engine to pull the implement to fast or over rev the engine to get the ground speed from to low a gear (like when 5th is to slow but 6th us to fast) the more gears, the less of a jump between any two and the better you can match engine rpm to ground speed. It makes a HUGE difference in diesel consumption, time in the field, and machine wear
@Hermiwalle
@Hermiwalle 23 күн бұрын
9 meters wide (30 feet) and 10 km/h (6mph) , is 9 hectares/h which is 22.5 acres/h. not 10 as you said in this video. I thought that sounded insanely pathetic for that tillage team. and I was correct to think so as it wasn't correct.
