Thank you again, my fellow boxer and champion Coach Arthur Palac. These punch combinations are more tools to my arsenal. Every boxer is different. For me, since I'm an ambidextrous southpaw boxer (that fights 80% as a southpaw:) that's a switch hitter, I'm a big advocate of shadowboxing. I will shadowbox with my 16 oz. gloves primarily (sometimes with 8 oz. gloves or just wraps) for 18 three minute rounds. That sounds almost overkill; however, it helps my sparring and fight performance because I unleash punch combinations, stay defensively responsible (ala "Winky" Wright), utilize footwork, counter punching, shifting, etc. Coach Arthur, after my first 6 rounds of shadow, I would watch one of two of your very practical and effective southpaw videos, and then I would finish my remaining 12 three minute rounds- after every 6, I take a break. Each 6 rounds simulates me boxing against a different opponent. It just really helps my performance in sparring and when it comes to fight day. Thank you, champ because your fundamentals are great and your videos and tactics help me visualize my attacks and strategies. Also, congrats on your journey as a National Champion Boxer! I watched your victories against Jeff Lacy and Terrance Johnson (National Golden Gloves 2000). You have a very effective yet awkward style. You are a great outside fighter with a great jab and a right lead hook! I'm not 6'5"; however, I'm 5'10" and I won my last fight at 148 lbs. Basically, I compete as a Welterweight (147 lbs.) to no more than Super Welterweight (154 lbs.). Most of my opponents are shorter than me, so your style really helps me! Back in the day, did you ever spar or fight against Andre "SOG" Ward? I think that you would give our 2004 Olympian and Hall Of Fame boxer a lot of problems. Any ways, thanks so much. God bless you ALWAYS, Champ. 🥊🥊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💖✝

Thank you, my fellow boxer and champion Coach Arthur Palac. The best example of “keeping our hands up” is definitely Ronald “Winky” Wright for us southpaw boxers. For orthodox boxers, Dmitry Bivol. 😎🔥🥇 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️

Thanks Coach Arthur Palac. Another effective tactic that I would utilize as a southpaw boxer, is to double up my straight left hand while slipping my head to the outside to remain defensively responsible. Basically, I would unleash that straight left fast like a double jab. This is an effective tactic that the great Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao used successfully against Oscar De La Hoya. 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️

Thank you. Yes I can use this. Immediately, but I am still having issues staying away from the jab of much faster, smart (younger) fighters I am sparring. They know what I am doing, and often throw it right back at me, I think I need more faints, even in my footwork direction changes.
@PalacBoxing4 ай бұрын
Speed can be countered with distance and or timing on your part. You can attempt to smother them to negate their jab and keep the fight in close. Go over their lead hand with a short hook on the inside or a longer hook on the outside. You can always try to feint the jab and time with with your left hand to chest or head as they throw their jab. This gets you in closer and can allow you to smother them, as I mentioned above. When you're sparring how much time are you spending with your back to the ropes and your sparring partner controlling the center of the ring?

@@PalacBoxing Thank you. I should say, I am 65yrs, 155lbs, 6ft 0in. Been boxing 3 months, sparring, a new experience, is always with faster, younger, more experienced opponent. Always fun, and yes, I train in a gym that looks out for my safety (The Box Thailand, in Bangkok) In my mind I am 18. I am able to put your tips to use. Outside more so, if I am not in/out, things are going wrong, as inside is not a place I want to linger for to long. Who am I trying to be in my 18yr old mind? I like Soviet style, Bivol/Usyk/ Loma....what do I look like? Some old guy trying to box :)....again....your channel is treasure. Not much time on ropes, I prefer to side step out and lateral to avoid being kept against ropes. And I try to train this running I feel slow on the duck and slip.

You can move slightly back on an angle, keeping you out of range and when he follows you, you make the move to the outside with your jab or hook
