The alternative is more terrifying because Yoko is an edgelady, though it's important to point out that no specifics are given about each outcome. But that's just SMT V, ultimately. There are never clear specifics in this game, just vibes of dread and desolation. Depending on what you evaluate, that might be both good and bad lol

I see people comparing Tao to Maruki. Let me explain where THAT argument outright fails. Maruki was removing people's free will in his ending. Tao knew she couldn't control everything and left things to Kei/Nahobino's hands to do how he sees fit and from how things look, Kei didn't even pull a Maruki. Tao did a better job than Maruki did. Don't get me wrong, Maruki's intentions were good but he did it the wrong way.

Let’s review all the endings from both the Canon of Creation and Vengeance: Bad Neutral: Destroy the throne to prevent the world from being remade. Law (Creation): Preserve God’s world and live forever in bliss under His rule. Chaos (Creation): Let the myriad gods handle things while letting them conflict each other through endless war. True Neutral: Create a world for humanity alone. Law (Vengeance): Basically becoming the new God and repeating the cycle. Chaos (Vengeance): Restarting the cycle all over again without the Mandala System and without God. Am I missing anything here? And what would you guys think is the best possible ending? For me, it would be either the True Neutral or Vengeance’s Chaos endings.

Nothing is stopping another being from rising to power and putting in another form mandala system again for CoV Chaos ending and the cycle repeats. Yoko is actually naive and idealistic.

@@MorpheusCh Exactly this. Lucifer and Demifiend already tried this with Nocturne's true demon ending and look at how that turned out. The events of SMT V happened and the Amala gets replaced with the Mandala System. Thing is that whoever the next messiah ends up being, they're going to have to find the source of all these getting brought in and take it out which means that eventually in the near future someone is going to have to take on Axiom who I believe is the true cause for all the new systems like the Amala and the Mandala to be created. Good luck to whoever does that though. He, she, or they (if its a group of people going on that journey) are going to need all of the luck they could get

Secret Neutral is still the best. It broke the Mandela Effect of the world and saved Tokyo like this one but the fate of humanity in that one is left up to…well humanity. There’s no god there to make everyone’s wish come true. Humans should decide their own fate without divine intervention.

Nope, Maruki was wrong because he overwrited people in a world that wasnt dying and was egocentrical as fuck, he also didnt diferenciated a cause of pain from a desire He turned a girl into her sister rather than make her forget or revive her because she wanted her to live to the point of replacing her He only had to litterally revive her so Kasumi would get on ya Worse, if you get overwrite of Maruki, you get your councious suppresed and your subcouncious lives it, even worse, if he doesnt know how to make you happy, instead of making things to improve in your favor, he just forces you to be happy like the Homeless man you can find somewhere So you dont even live on it In this ending, you only got reincarnated, in the exact same conditions, so they actually got to live life

@@micahlindley7515 I wouldn’t say I hated it the ending although I can’t say anything about the overall community reaction to the law ending or other SMT V endings. I found it underwhelming since it doesn’t go beyond the surface level idea of what this new universe would be like and how the dreams of humanity come to be. Therefore, I had to go with the ideas explained in P5R and parts of Soul Hackers 2 with the questions it raises there and if that is the case then yeah that’s kinda terrifying of a world to imagine being created.

Same, it was the only ending i could get behind and a lot had to do whit Yoko being so boring as a character that halfway into the game i couldn't bring myself to pay attention anymore when she was talking and that's saying something considering Tao isn't exactly super intresting either.

@@phoney4258 It is basically Zelenin ending from Strange Journey Redux (perfect utopia), but without any moral consenquences & niuanses, and this is boring and cliche as hell. It's happy ending like SMT IV Apocalypse ,,Bonds'' ending, and new writers still don't understand mainline SMT games. Chaos ending is even worse because it's White Ending + Waifu, it's not even a freedom / Chaos ending, it's basically reset ending. Good example of good freedom ending is SMT 2 Chaos Ending, SJR New Chaos Ending or SMT 3 Nocturne Freedom Ending, but not that Chaos Ending in SMT V Vengeance.

Are we really going to pretend like a world were everyone's wishes are granted is actually good? I think the ending just pushes even more how naive Tao is, Yoko is an edgelord but the idea of just wiping the slate clean and starting over from scratch just sounds better given the alternative.

@@CarlosSilva-bh4bi Tao literally fragmented the universe into a buncha pretend realities that coddle each individual's specific desires and dreams. Did she forget about actually evil desires and dreams, because that implies she gave them what they want too. It's an extremely pathetic, cope ending, that hilariously is shown as a bad ending in other fictional narratives. (It is here too.) I mean shit dude, the funniest example that came to my mind was the Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann USING THAT EXACT SAME THING as a weapon against the protagonists to attempt to prevent them from defeating him. I really enjoy that Vengeance added two endings that *are not new true endings* because I genuinely think the original script is incredibly well-written and profound, despite what people thought back then dealing with the bad switch version. I am glad Atlust didn't just, do the Persona remake thing, where they "overwrite" the original version. I do think my only complaint was that, it didn't make me like Tao more, it kinda made me hate her more haha. TLDR: Tao is a nonce, but this might be Atlust's best "remake" and I am extremely happy about it overall.

@@MILDMONSTER1234 SMT IV Apocalypse 2.0 ... those Tokyo Mirrage Sessions, Soul Hackers 2, SMT V and SMT IV Apocalypse writers should be expelled imediatyly. They can't write a good scenario for a game since 10 years, so they are clearly a problem, not rest of Atlus team. Team Maniax basically at this moment have no decent writers since 2014 (restructurization in Atlus).

My MC could solo the Reaper before I progressed to January 31. This goober didn’t even get a turn, lol. I came to KZfaq so I could see what his Persona looked like. In hindsight I regret grinding, because the endgame was way too easy.
