“Way overdue” is an understatement. Did they put it into an annual or bi annual schedule? It’d be interesting to see an update a couple of years later. Also, what type of cedar is this? Doesn’t look like an arborvitae cedar variety. Maybe more like a white cedar?

I have my mom’s cabinet here. It is exactly like the cabinet in this picture. The spring lever that supports the shelf that holds your fabric while you sew is missing on hers. I can’t find one anywhere. It’s the lever that pops out automatically when you fold the fabric support table down. What is the correct name for that piece. I’ve been searching eBay, sewing parts online, etc. I see a part of it that’s left still attached to the underside of the inner cabinet, but there is no lever nor spring. Yours turned out absolutely beautifully.

What choke cable did you use? And can I also have the link to the diagram with the writing on it? This has been so helpful, I'm doing my Mitsubishi 3g83 and it's a pretty similar engine

Its a model 185j or 185k. J suffix made in St Johns Canada, k suffix are made in Great Britain (Kilbowie Scotland). You read the number on the motor which is only the motor model. Singer used a variety of motors and each had a different number. Its a very good machine, keep it oiled and it will last forever. Nice restoration!

What jets do u have in the carb? Main and pilot?

I dont actualy know what jets are in it, I instaled the carb just as i received it. Perhaps trying diffrent sized would help performance.

Great video. I have a DD51t also that has some hesitation issues. I'm considering this swap. Curious though. Why is your's LHD!? I've only seen that in some DOD bought 2wd Daihatsu and Mitsubishi trucks. Every suzuki I've seen is RHD!
@rensonsyard Жыл бұрын
I'm not exactly sure why it's LHD. It was definitely imported that way. In fact, the import dealer did have multiple LHD trucks available at the time.

I just bought a new 2022 215 super wheel model for the side entry. It is so jerky can't easily do any precise work, hook up attachments etc. Screams so loud even inside the cab you can't hear yourself think. Less than 100 hours on the shop 3 times for emergency stop codes. This last time having to.pull the engine to replace oil pump, trying to fix low oil presdure

I start a 210 ft long hedge tomorrow that's about 6 years overgrown. Been looking at videos all night and really loved this one. Great job. Did you have to use extension chain saw at all?
@rensonsyard2 жыл бұрын
It was used to trim the top of the hedge when working from the roof of the house or the garage. It was to far to reach with a normal saw, but we didn't have enough clearance to go in with the platform.

Hey so I'm in the process of doing this swap to a customers DD51T, wondering if you had to do anything to the carb other than mess with the idle and mixture screw? I'm having a terrible time tuning this, running into a problem where the idle is way to fat but it leans way out when I throttle into it. Nothing I've been doing helps, wondering if you have any insight on this.
@Standman694 ай бұрын
I'm not a mechanic but hopefully this will help those of you who are. This carb is for a "cycle" engine not a car engine. Cycles, whether it be a 3-wheeler, 4-wheeler, motorcycle, etc. have their carbs mounted mere inches from the cylinder(s). When you crack the throttle the response is instantaneous. "Cars" have bulky intakes that distance the carb away from one or more cylinders creating huge pockets of air. To compensate, these carbs are equipped with accelerator (spray) pumps that squirt a bit of extra gas just at the moment when you crack the throttle to compensate for the extra volume of air between the carb and cylinder(s). This prevents having the engine fall flat on its face or even die when you go to give it gas. Back in the day you could actually flood an engine by pumping the gas pedal too much before starting. The mini-truck engines are no different as the carb is on one side of the truck and the head is on the other -lol. And yes the factory carbs on these have accelerator pumps. Naturally its going to fall flat on its face every time (even when it's warmed up) without it's "complicated" factory carb (or equivalent). If you don't mind feathering the pedal then this type of carb will work but it will never be right. Click the thumbs up if you feel like you learned something!
