major con: finding a competent veterinarian I live in a county of just over 1,000,000 people and 15 miles from a city of over 700,000 people; while there are many dozens of great veterinarians that will see your dog or cat, there exactly 3 who see rabbits (and 1 has a bad reputation). One of my buns needs what seems like a fairly simple and quite common surgery, in fact you can find quite a few videos of the same type of surgery on YT starting from over 15 years ago, yet the closest vet (and it's actually a veterinary college not a private practice) that is willing to do the surgery, is about 400 miles away. Most vets simply do not have the experience needed for anything other than the very common procedures such as grinding their teeth down or neutering. After many, many hours of scouring the internet and being on the phone with at least 100 different vet clinics, I would not suggest getting a rabbit unless you live within driving distance to at least 5 vets that see exotics and at least 1 university/college that teaches exotic vet medicine and allows the public to use their services... oh and as far as prices go, it's usually 5x what a dog or cat will cost so if you don't have disposable income, rabbits probably aren't the right pet for you BUT if you can get past the cons, they are perfect little fluffballs of love

Food for thought, celery very bad for rabbits. They can choke on it. Buy your timothy hay and pellets from tsc. The pet stores are a rip off. Raise them outdoors, keep the mess outside of your home.

I also have chronic migraines, it actually makes me sad on how many people misunderstand what we are really going through, my migraines are 24/7, and I haven’t had a break from the pain in almost 2-3 years now, and they’ve only been worsening. People tell me to suck it up, get over it, and to stop being dramatic, When I am in excruciating pain, my biggest trigger is noise, mostly loud noise. But also really deep or high pitched noises that feel like they eat into your brain. My dad tells me “the world is full of noises, you have to stop letting it be a trigger” but it doesn’t work that way. I wish it did.

Interesting vlog. BunBun, is extremely attached to me. I rescued her from the time she was a newborn and she's now 6 years young. She follows me everywhere and actually cries out when I don't pick her up to snuggle. She loves messages and nudges me for more as soon as I stop, hops under the covers with me, and falls asleep with her head resting under my chin! 🐰🐇

If you haven’t yet I recommend giving water to your rabbits in a heavy bowl (so they don’t tip the water bowl over) because rabbits don’t get a lot of water from water bottles that “are” for rabbits. I also recommend putting a rug underneath their x-pen so they don’t keep slipping on the floor because rabbits have fur underneath their paws so they can’t get around as easily on hardwood floor the way animals with paws (by that I mean paws like dog paws, cat paws, hamster paws, etc) can.

Sometimes when I get a migraine that is really unbearable or too many days in a row of them, I really lose my spirit. Today was a bad day and it's my first day I let myself call myself disabled in my own head. I think with time I can start forgiving myself, instead of hating myself, for not being able to do all of the things I want to in this life and body. Thank you for the video. 💙

I started getting migraines when I was young (11 or 12). As I've gotten older (especially the last decade; I'm in my 40s now), they have gotten much more frequent and I have many more triggers (stress; flashing or bright lights; certain sounds; stress; being dehydrated; missing meals; eating too much chocolate; but my biggest one is smells like perfumes, lotions, cleaning supplies, etc). I was getting 5-6 migraines a week but thanks to meds, it's now down to 1-2 a week. Most of my triggers I can avoid, as long as I'm at home...but if I'm out and about, it's harder to avoid triggers, especially smells that can / will trigger a migraine. I'm in the process of trying to get approved for disability, but it's difficult. I was already denied once and am going through the appeal process.

I completely understand. That sounds extremely similar to my experience. It's been 4.5 years or so for me with almost daily pain, tried maybe 10+ medications and treatments, one medication has helped with severity and i get by, but nothing has drastically changed my condition. I have also lost hope, i don't ever expect it to go away for me. All i can do is learn to live with it, enjoy my better days, and try to cope. And that is not always easy. This is a painful, frustrating, silent and isolating disease, and nobody deserves to live with it. I have to fight with it in every area of my life. I hope i can possibly create some kind of community space here, or at least a place people can go to remember that they are not alone. Please feel free to message me if you ever want to chat. Let me know if you have any video topic ideas. You are strong and you are not alone. I'm so sorry you're going through this. ❤️

So many rabbit owners claim rabbits are "extremly intelligent " pls be specific and give examples of their "extreme intelligence". Do they act in movies, work with law enforcement, work in the military, help blind people walk, participate in high training competitions, work in therapy for humans, can communicate with humans in sophisticated ways? Oops im talking about dogs! Just bec a rabbit can do a pathetic trick or two for a sad treat doesnt mean they are "extremely intelligent" Ive seen videos of other rabbit owners that say that rabbits are easy to work with bec of their low intelligence😂 rabbits can easily be fooled and killed by stoats HALF their size! Yikes too much intelligence there lol!!
