I have a cane-backed rocker that needs replacing but trying to figure out how to put the new webbing on. It's not stapled or anything to the back; just wrapped around top and bottom of back of chair. My question is does anyone have an idea how to get the webbing to be secure enough that when I lean back in chair it won't come undone? I've never tried this before but my current webbing is really falling apart with no back support and I need to replace soon. Thanks!

Hi from Kissimmee, Florida. I have a beautiful dining room table and 6 chairs with wicker backing that my dad bought in 1971, when I was 6, in Daytona Beach, Florida and the table and three of the chairs will look wonderful. The set was made by American Furniture Company in Martinsville, Virginia. I found a place that will replace the wicker backing of my chairs for $150 per chair. I thought that was a lot, but now I see why! So, after I watched this video, I bought the kit that Todd suggested from Amazon and I hope I can do it myself. I just started this earlier today because my wicker backing kit just came in the mail. MY chairs do not have that thick piece around the edge that Todd's chairs do and I am having a lot of trouble getting this edging off. I have tried several tools, but it is going to take some effort. I think the easy part is going to be putting the wicker backing ON once I get the spline OFF! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, if you know where I can find antique American Furniture chairs , I would love to check it out because I can't find the exact chair. Thanks so much.

Just a heads up here... Tighten the spark plug finger-tight until the gasket reaches the cylinder head, then tighten about ½ - ⅔ turn more with a spark plug wrench. (Taper seat you go about 1/16 turn more... These are way to tight.

I looked all over to try to find comparable bamboo style chairs, I got these from Badcock furniture years ago but could not find anything anywhere like them without spending less than $1000 per chair. To get them professionally redone was $250/chair. So before throwing in the towel I thought I would give this a try. The first one took a few hours but the rest took about an hour and a half. For me the time was well worth end result.

Sometimes when carpet was removed and tile installed, the residual glue from the carpet and lift the tiles. Also, the biggest tile lifter is water getting under the slab and loosening them.
@sunshinetv24194 ай бұрын
The tiles were put down when the floor was built. My best guess as to what happened was that my guests left the blinds open all day on an unusually hot day in the winter and the sunlight beamed onto the tile and heated it up to the point it expanded and popped up from the floor. As you can see there wasn't any moisture under the tile and there is no glue from carpet so I'm going with my theory of open blinds because when I open them completely the sun shines right on that spot.

These Subaru Boxer engines are terrible for changing out spark plugs. I'm not buying a Subaru again. Own a Forester.
@arthurehman75344 ай бұрын
Your problem resulted from expansion and contraction of cement subfloor differential from the tile. Most likely you will find the tile installed either very tight to the walls (under the baseboard) or very tight to the baseboard with cement grout installed instead of siliconized grout caulking. When the subfloor and walls expand, it puts extreme pressure on the tile mortar. If you pull up a tile and it comes clean on one of the surfaces this is a tell-tale symptom of pressure. Your fix most like will be a somewhat temporary one unless you dress the perimeter.

Stating, that by sealing both sides, the life of the cane will be shortened. Finish and cane become brittle. Do you have any experience with this happening through time? Thank you.

im looking at buying on of these, possible seized engine on left hand side, are they hard to repair or replace??
@sunshinetv24195 ай бұрын
I lost one of the engines due to a clogged 2 cycle oil hose. I was running full speed across the lake when this happened. I hobbled back on one engine then took it to a mechanic who inspected the engine with a camera and compression tester. The clog blocked the oil so there was no lubrication in the fuel so the piston ended up scarring the cylinder walls. Sea Doo mechanic said there was no way to know this would happen. Anyway, I found a company that sells these engines refurbished. Check the site ShopSBT.com... You buy their engine then send them yours. They had the best prices. I had a local mechanic install it but he took forever and it didn't run right when I got it back. I ended up having to take it to SeaDoo dealer and they said he had some fuel lines crossed it ran great for a while. I think the engine cost about $800 and the install was $3-500. You could probably do it yourself if you're handy. I used to keep the boat at my camp far from home so it wasn't something I could do. I heard it comes out with just a few bolts. The thing about working on that boat though is the engine is way down in the engine compartment and it gets very uncomfortable after a while leaning over the side or the seat doing long repairs. Otherwise when the boat ran it was a blast on the water!

Is there a reason you didn’t stain rattan before installing?
@toddsadowski50745 ай бұрын
Yes The rattan needs to soak in water in order to be pliable and not break when stuffing it into the channel… if you stain it the pores will be sealed and it won’t absorb water therefore it would be brittle when you try to secure it around the edges

Maybe a silly question, but what harm would a copper or nylon brush do to clean and reuse the old plug?
@bohdanked5 ай бұрын
Wouldn't do any harm but would not do any good neither. They are recommended to be replaced because they wear out. However I don't know why Subaru recommends replacing every 60K miles mine looked fine after 100K

I do recall that NGK states you should NOT use anti-seize for the NGK spark plugs due to zinc coating, technician from Subaru says the same
@bohdanked5 ай бұрын
The main reason NGK does not recommend using anti-seize is possibility of over-tighten the spark plug. However they do recommend using anti-seize in case of re-installation of old sparkplug when zinc coating is gone. Internet suggests adjusting torque specs down by around 30% when using anti-seize. Or as NGK instructions suggest just tighten the spark plug 1/2 to 2/3 turn after the gasket touches the cylinder head.
