Always look forward to watching your videos. I was wonder what you thought would be the better choice? The new LiTime group 24 with bluetooth or the new Power Queen group 24 with bluetooth? I would be using the batteries for a Ultrex 36V and the space of the 24 would be nice, but don't really care about bluetooth. But the BMS and LTCO is nice. I know when you post the video, I saw where the Power Queen wasn't out when you filmed. On Amazon, there is about a $10 difference between the 2, Power Queen is cheaper. Is the LiTime worth $10 more. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the comment! I would say there's an extreme amount of commonality between the two. You may take a Quick Look at their app and see if either one is better, some are pretty clunky. I know the LiTime app is pretty easy to work with. If you do buy, please use the links, they help me out 👍

Thanks for this video... I'm totally ignorant on batteries and I was researching everything to find a good & affordable lithium battery for my trolling moter - and understand what everything meant that I was reading about. With some frustration, I was going to order the Eco battery, but after watching your video I also went with the Weize. I do wish you would have explained what battery cycles is talking about... I've seen ads talking about 2000, 3000... I think I've seen it up to 15,000 cycles, and have no clue what it means. The Weize battery said it had 2000-8000 cycles depending on whether you're running wide open or at 50%, compared to a lead battery having 500... it sounds great, I just don't know what it means. But other than still not quite understanding battery cycles, I learned a lot from your video.

Disclaimer: I am not promoting Dakota Lithium just sharing my experience. With that said, I use a 12v 10ah Dakota Lithium for my ice fishing Sonar (Helix 5) and it has been very good. I can run it in the cold Canadian winter (-20c) and after 4 or 5 hours the sonar is still reading full battery... I dunno. I recharge it every other time I go out not because it needs it but because I am usually recharging my ION ice auger 40v 4ah anyway. But it is worth mentioning I NEVER charge them while they are cold and always bring them into the basement and give them a few hours minimum before putting the charger on them. I am learning from these videos though and considering a cheaper option moving forward because it is beginning to look like some of these lower priced batteries could be good enough.

I see all of these seem to be rated for motors from 30 to 70 pounds of thrust. I have a smaller motor than that, 24 pounds of thrust. Will these still work for this motor? I dont see why it would make a difference if the motor is less than 30 pounds. Am I missing something here?

I am using a lead acid battery charger in parallel with a lifepo4 one to boost the recharge speed of a 300 AH lifepo4 battery. Sure the lead acid charger doesnt work great when the battery crosses 50% State of charge but below that it definitely helps boost that recharge speed. My lead acid charger is integrated into the inverter as a 2 in one device and its either on or off in regards to charging and I see no reason to turn it off. My lead acid charger is 30 amps and I have two lifepo4 chargers, one 10A and the other 30A. The battery is well within spec to be recharged off all those chsrgers at the same time running from a couple kilowatt generator but I am sure that would burn out most alternators.
@goodmanfishing

That certainly would work as a "booster". Thanks for sharing.

@goodmanfishing

The specs on this battery shows that it will run a trolling motor (30-70lb). If you run 3 of these in series (36V) would it be able to handle a Minn Kota Ultrex 115lb?
@goodmanfishing
@goodmanfishing 18 күн бұрын
That 30-70lb rating is for a single battery. 3 will run a 36v Ultrex with no problem! You'll be well within the continuous discharge rating 👍 If you end up going that route, using the link in the video it helps me out!

@goodmanfishing
@goodmanfishing 19 күн бұрын
Interesting thought. I've not seen any lithium battery tear downs with padding under the cells. Independent of size. Rectangular prismatic cells aren't necessarily sensitive to vibration either. I would consider being packed tightly limits movement, which I would prefer over padding/moving parts. AGM and Lead Acid sure don't have any padding either.

Great video, great battery, and a couple of additional points I didn't hear you cover: Lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries maintain a consistent voltage throughout the discharge curve, which means you aren't gradually increasing the power (amperage) to your trolling motor, throughout the day. This even voltage characteristic makes LFP an excellent choice for your increasingly sensitive and power-hungry electronics. I started using them for my electronics when I noticed my graphs would reset any time I cranked over the big motor and the livewell pump was already running. That combination would drop the voltage on my lead-acid cranking battery enough to do a hard reset on the graphs...not a good thing! :)

Great addition!

@@stedyone1090 - I may not have been clear enough in my comments. I am running electronics with LFP batteries, but still using lead-acid for cranking over the big motor and for running pumps. Everything else is LFP.
