I love Marr, but he just can't sing. It would be like Morrissey trying to play this on a Les Paul.

it’s crazy that he’s barring the high strings and still getting his thumb around the e string. or maybe it’s not, being that i’m using an acoustic guitar. i’ve been trying to nail this for days

Nothing like an 18 second video that cuts off abruptly. Because 18 was too long.

I liken his guitar tone to that of Robert Smith. Two extraordinary talents that I enjoy immensely.

It sounds better when the Smiths play it but not bad play guitar riff is very hard to play a lot of guitarists have challenged and mystified themselves trying to play it

1st fell in love with this song from watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Couldn’t get enough of it as the whole song isn’t in the film. Took my wife to see the killers (taking one for the team). As I’m walking around the building I see a woman wearing a “Johnny Fucking Marr” t shirt. He opened for them. Couldn’t have been happier.

not having seen this performance before. one might say ,who needs morrisey??!!! vocally it’s pretty close…i wonder now if morrisey feels irrelevant? would be a good question to put to the man..i think he’d burst your lips though…and quite right too 😊
