I just bought a 2006 100 series land cruiser with 159k miles, the break pedal is soft but I heard from a shop I took it in thats normal for this type of vehicle? This however raised concern to me when I learned about the break failures so I'm just now looking into it... I tested how long the pump took when I turned my key to ON and its around 28 seconds from what I hear is a healthy indicator of a pump? Any feedback is highly appreciated on what to look out for etc. Thank you so much

break pedal soft is not normal I have a 06 with 186k miles and I just got the warning lights/buzzer which means my brake master is starting to go. might be time to replace yours too just based on age if it's original.

I have the same 2023 truck and I agree, not sure what the complaints are about! For me it has plenty of power. However, I’m coming from a tdi Jetta so I DO miss 40-50 mpg. Lol =)

I have a 2021 TRD sport manual. Reverse is geared way too high, backing a trailer is a chore and a half with nonstop clutch riding. First gear is super short; low speed parking lot driving sucks. Second gear is pretty long, but once you get out of there it is fun to drive. Wish other manufacturers besides jeep and Subaru made modern 4 or all wheel drive standard transmission options. Until then I’m sticking with my Tacoma

Maybe you already covered it on another video, but have you done any maintenance on the sunroof? Have you had any issues with sunroof operation or leaks? I’m about to get a 2017 Alltrack. I know there’s a lot of content on the topic, but you are pretty thorough with maintenance.

If the pump has failed, there should be no pressure in the system. Something that you want to do on these Teves type systems is listen to how often the pump has to turn on. It should only run every 2 or 3 normal stops. ABS stops are different and the pump will run continuously during a panic stop. If you notice the pump turning on every time you press the brake or you see the ABS and brake warning lights staying on for a while after you park it for a short time, then you want to replace the accumulator. For that, you will want to depress the brake pedal at least 25 times with the battery disconnected. The accumulator is around $200 from Toyota, maybe more now, its been a while since I bought one. No bleeding is necessary for this service.

I was under the impression that you had to go through all these steps when replacing transmission fluid. Like get it up to temp check oil levels shift it into all the gears etc

Do not use a 1/2 torque wrench to tighten the plugs, they can be inaccurate at low torque values. Use 1/4 or 3/8 and torque at 15NM, someone on rennlist cracked their cases even with a low torque of 20NM.

Mine's been okay. I replaced the throw out bearing at 70k because of chirping. You can get a factory kit to add power locks to the tailgate.

Thanks for the video. But like another commenter said, it is the wrong fluid. Need to use Dexron III. I just bought mine from Oreily's but any Dexron III should work. Is there any reason why you chose to use RTV instead of a precut gasket?

Why do you not warm up your new fluids? Those bags are super easy to do by just dropping in a bucket of hot water for like 30 minutes before....

Rear shocks are 10 minutes per side. Very easy to do. Lift up the carpet and use a large step bit drill and drill a wide hole to where the top nut of the shock would be. Do this for both sides. I installed cheap amazon $60 shocks and they started clunking and becoming loose. I am replacing with genuine OEM shocks from Toyota. I took the shocks out already and it's bouncy. Just waiting for my new shocks to come in. I'd say you can get both sides done within 20 minutes or less. 30 if slow. Also I covered the hole with Gorilla brand black duck tape. People complain about noise level but I don't even hear it. You can always cover with foam pad or something too.
