To all the warcraft fans... you do realise that the original Chaos corrupts and "that's pretty much how each chaos champion is born" predates WC3 by almost an entire era? (ok exaggeration but still... warcraft 3 was the new kid on the block by a mile). Blizzard, for anybody that was born then, is pretty famous for plagiarism in regards to the entire industry both lore and game-play wise. What made them insanely successful was 1- marketing and 2-they centralized all the good ideas from others in one game. But when it comes down to originality... well they never had any to start with. So saying that this story is a copy/paste is so priceless, on so many levels, that it kind of explains what's wrong with the world nowadays. Keep being uninformed and not digging. You're doing great.

It's a pretty simple and fairly predictable story, but executed extremely well. I especially like some of the subtle touches, like how Yuri's "barks" (the voicelines when you click on him) _very_ gradually shift as you progress. They don't get swapped out all at once at specific thresholds, but rather new ones are slowly added as he becomes more corrupted, and old ones are removed. Or how the loading screen texts are excerpts from Kurnz' diary, showing how Yuri is following in his footsteps not only literally, but also figuratively in his fall to Chaos, it's just really great stuff all around. Also, it goes without saying, but the VA for Yuri is absolutely INCREDIBLE.

As a person you will need to join a Clan that is already participating, there are plenty of options. For example ARGD if you are German, CI is mostly spanish if im not wrong and vsc is pretty international

I'm sad this story ends up on a cliffhanger where you don't even know if Skarbrand gained Khorne's forgiveness or not. There is already no much of a scenario in this campaign, why not be a bit more decisive about the endings. Also, this was one of the stories which were really important for their protagonist, it ought to have ended up with something more conclusive.
@jmhaugen47572 жыл бұрын
I'll spoil it for you: he didn't. The Blood God will never forgive Skarbrand, because in seeking forgiveness, the Daemon continues to slaughter in Khorne's name. There will never be a skull grand enough to appease Khorne, because he doesn't want to forgive; he wants the Daemon to rampage for eternity, killing all the while, always seeking prey greater than the one before. And all the Blood God has to do...is be silent.
@Indolthir2 жыл бұрын
@@jmhaugen4757 True. Although, would that really change if he brought him back. Skarbrand was first amongst the bloodthirsters and greatest warrior of Khorne prior to his fall, indicating that he was rampaging and slaughtering a lot already. Well, I guess Khorne looked at his abacus after Skarbrand's exile and said "Wow! Skarbrand actually tripled his amounts of skulls offerings. I should exile my bloodthirsters more often!"

There’s absolutely no way skarbrand could ever regain khorne’s favor skarbrand broke the absolute brass rule of Khorne while serving under him, which attempted to strike Khorne while his back is turned and that is a big no no because that’s the cowards way of fighting skarbrand didn’t fight Khorne one of one for the throne honorably and for that he will tread alone forever in the material world in a rampage forever no skull big enough and no matter how much he gets, he will never regain khornes forgiveness

@Manny Trident I get what you mean he is somewhat of a douche bag but that’s the thing Khorne will never lie to you, will never bag stab you and doesn’t care who you kill in combat as long as blood is flowing and being fair in a fight, he’s is the chaos god of rage, wrath, hatred, blood, martial combat, honor, war, and murder I mean nurgle loves you no matter who you are you might get forgiveness from him, slaanesh loves ya way too much, but yeah for Khorne he doesn’t do mercy since that will only either feed a chaos god or anger him even more

I'm uncertain if Yuri Barkov is really chaos undivided, for he first encountered Tzeentch corruption before Khorne's. Never Slaanesh's or Nurgle's. Yuri was mostly trying to find knowledge in tomes and runes, even reading the journal of a traitorous heretic to search for Ursun, with having faith, and the hope that he can find Ursun. Until he became corrupted and started to desire power. Whilist he was decieved by Be'lakor, like many victims were deceived by the Great Deceiver. That sounds a lot like Tzeentch to me.

It's not plagiarism... the Fallen Hero is a very common trope in fiction. Star Wars has Anakin Skywalker, Revan, Malak, Bastila and Count Dooku, among others. The MCU has Wanda Maximoff. Warhammer 40K has all of the Primarchs who turned traitor and embraced Chaos... especially Warmaster Horus. Hell... Arthas isn't the only one in the Warcraft universe, because you also have Sargeras, Sylvanas Windrunner, Kael'thas Sunstrider, Deathwing, Malygos and pretty much the entire Scarlet Crusade. But you know who the greatest example of the 'Fallen Hero' trope in literature is? Satan! I mean come on! The guy was God's greatest archangel before he lost his way and became the ultimate evil.
