Good tips. There are a couple of adjustments on my everlast mig welder that I should play with a bit to see if I can get the beads even better.

Love your videos, but you should do a close up and a "dry run " so to speak of the technique up close so we could see what your doing. I picked up on it but others who are beginning welding mighty not.

On my machine(100 amp Century) I am still getting build-up on the bead. Looks consistant, just looks like I need more heat to flatten out the bead.

Yeah, saw that too. The backlight really amplifies how much smoke a welder is exposed to. I use a portable fan to either blow the smoke away or, draw away pending on the position.

You dont need to change the tip if wire is feeding fine. When the wire starts sticking and pulsing out the tip. Or burns back onto tip.

Great tip on the scratch plastic polish.

If the wire is feeding through okay, how do I know when to change the tip?

I think you need to learn how to weld first before you put videos up. Haha Haha FAIL

dopey music and lots of elbow, thanks anyway
@MrNakedLandscaper12 жыл бұрын
This isn't changing the wire as there is no old wire in there!! What about the old wire that is left in the pipe from the old reel? Do you throw or keep? Plus all you can see is elbow through the most important bit!!

Hey would you mind posting a video detailing how you move your gun while welding? You have some of the nicest looking passes I have seen, and I am wondering what your technique is to get them looking the way you do. Thanks!

your "end product" with your "dialed in settings" was after you got some heat in that workpiece from your other side pass. you mentioned it might need more heat, but i can guarantee you need more heat on a workpiece at ambient temperature. im not saying its going to fail or anything, but a root pass is standard IMHO (especially for anything that must hold pressure). not that im teaching you how to do your thing or whatever, but novice welders watching this might not understand.

what technique did you use? - pushing or pulling, did you do the back and forth technique/pausing, making little "u", or just straight?
