It could be a bad camera but the controller and the cams all need to be using the same protocol.

I was eyeballing this under the Fomako brand at the same price point. I currently have the similar one by Hsility unfortunately that one only does onvif while apps like OBS and Companion and many others use ip Visca. The on-board view was game changer for video production on the Hsility. Being able to program one button presets on a Streamdeck became more important. So I wound up using a different controller without the video preview but had Visca.

Hi, thanks for the review...you are really helping us narrow our options. Quick couple of questions: How have you found this camera to perform in the long term...it is still holding up after a year now? Also, does this put HDMI out at the same time as NDI...and is audio embedded in those outputs? Are there better PTZ cameras you would recommend at a similar price point? (ie something from FoMaKo or SMTAV) Thanks!

Need to look at the Prisual line of cameras. They are PTZOptics clones at a much more reasonable price and great tech support. We have used four of them to live stream our service each week and we are very happy with their performance. I use mine with Ethernet for the PoE and control function and SDI for the video. Additionally we couple them to the PTZOptics G4 Joystick controller.

So this video helped and it didn’t. It’s what everyone who has the Sling Studio already knows. When you factor in $800 bucks for each Hollyland, you are now at $500 more per wireless signal. I am thinking Ninja Atomos X cast for hard buttons and Yolobox Pro for overlays. The only downside there is ISO recordings or lack there of. Sling handled all that program, inputs everything. It was truly a remarkable product.

God job I have a question 🙋‍♂️ Can I Connect a HDMi Cable from PTZ to my Switch and connect at the same time Ethernet cable to PTZ control in OBS? OBS has a plugin for PTZ controller but I don’t want to stream from OBS I want to stream from the Switch and Controller from OBS

NDI solves a lot of this. Lots of cameras are now coming with that built in. And with the NDI camera app, your phone is also now a wireless camera that can be ingested into things like the Director Mini, Yolobox Ultra, or by using a Birddog Play NDI->HDMI receiver.

@WWPTV
@WWPTV Ай бұрын
100% compatible. You just need your stream key and event. I send my Sling Studio to my Live U solo unit and send that to Restream. The bonding is something you never really got from Sling studio. The streaming was a liability of Sling Studio.

a cheaper approach than ATEM and a Control Keyboard would be a stream deck and then use OBS with NDI. You can use the streamdeck for a controller/switcher/everything.

Thank you so much for the videos on the Chameye gear. Just in case you haven't seen is that even 7 months later you are still one of the only (and probably the most comprehensive) video explanation concerning this gear. Butttt........................ Not unlike thekinetictvfaithinmotion4453 below I had the same problems. I have the Chameye E300 controller and the Chameye PTZ C730N PTZ camera. Take away the computer. Take away WiFi. Forget the mind blogging failed attempts to login and change IP addresses. These two pieces of gear operates on the VASCA protocol so attempting to change ONVIF like you suggested in your video appears to be futile. I am using a MacBook Pro (or was). I've tried using the RS232 serial port cable just to control the camera, and nothing. They just don't take to one another. The only thing that works is HDMI out, the PoE port for power, and the remote for the camera. This is not a plug and play unit. Now I am not as well educated and astute as you obviously are, but this has been more frustrating than setting up a 4 camera remote program for a television news station. I can't give up because too much money has been invested. I don't need to stream live. I don't need to add fancy graphics. I could care less (right now) about doing Picture in Picture. I want to shoot a small event and record it. I just want to be able for these two pieces of gear to work as designed. I have no need for all the fancy tech stuff. If you have any ideas or suggestions, man I'd really appreciate it. I've laterally spent days trying everything I can to get these to work. Can you help a fellow wanna-be techy out.
@WolfsHaven
@WolfsHaven 10 күн бұрын
I replied a similar answer in another post in this video but you'll want all of your gear set to use the same protocol, NDI, Visca, or whatever. If one piece of gear is set differently, it usually doesn't work.

USB only if you want to use as a 'webcam' where you dont need a capture card and you have a short run since USB cant go over too long distances.

Very well presented. Thank you. I have a question. For audio to livestream, do you take the sound from the main mix or do you have a separate mix for the livestream?
@bahamasc
@bahamasc Ай бұрын
Separate mix is always better. On a digital board you can setup a different mix. On an analog board, you can use an aux or monitor out. You just wont have control over mid/high/lows but you will be able to mix a different sound for the stream.

Another great video. We're going to attempt 4 PTZs over OBS and while I was trying to avoid an additional switcher due to desktop space limitations I've been considering this. I really like the flexibility of it. I would pick the XL for the cost. It's $200 at the lowest point now, but it jumps between that and $250. I'll let it drop before I pick it up and give it a try. That'll give me a few weeks to setup my scenes in OBS too.

If your PTZs are placed around a large room, you'll need sdi-hdmi cross converters x 2 per camera this gets expensive and maybe nearly worth the sdi version. Anyone recommend any cheap and reliable cross converters other than the BM ones. Or has anyone amy other ideas? As in can the camera feeds run over ethernet to a hub at ops and from there be converted to HDMI to go to the switcher?

How to setup this same camera on a MacBook Pro?
@NeonShores

The wide lens kills this thing for me. Because it uses such a wide lens the perspective distortion towards the edges makes it near useless zoomed in if you want a quality image, and it limits the digital zoom because it starts so wide to begin with. Bummer.
