How'd you get GM Notes section to populate for Broken Moon?
@keithcurtis
@keithcurtis 2 жыл бұрын
Supernotes is the script that pulls the text from the GM Notes. The T button that Reporter creates issues a Supernotes command. That command contains the keyword handout|Navigator| to tell it to send the report to the handout named "Navigator".

@@keithcurtis Oh yes, I get how you get the top part to populate. I'm referring to @5:35 in video, the Navigator handout has content within the GM Notes section. From what I can see in the video and the instructions linked, that content is pulled from GM Notes on the token but how did you get the content to stay in the GM Notes section.

@@foekelly7064 Ah! I got you. Whatever information you put in Token GM Notes that you want to always be invisible to players, separate by a line with five dashes: -----. Everything after that only displays in the GM Notes of a handout if sent to a handout, or is indicated using Roll20's whisper styling if sent to chat. Public Info ----- GM Info

@@keithcurtis One last question, what controls the width of what's sent to chat? Using your Broken Moon example, the width in my game is about 3/4 size maybe.

Hi! I know this has been a while but I've been having trouble figuring this out. I tried to reply on the forums but it required me to open a new thread. I need some help with this. I can't seem to get it to work after adding newer scenes. It was working perfectly before I had added new scenes.

You most likely need to re-generate the roll token. It only has the faces on it that were there the last time it was created. Editing the rollable table requires a new token to be made. Set it up same as the other and it should work fine. The macros are linked to the sheet, so you don't have to re-write anything.

Hi Keith, interesting video. I makes me want to create a map using these little tricks. I do have 2 questions though: - Why not link each token to a character sheet and store the information there. Then you can let players access that sheet and read the infomation themselfs as well - I see your Document Tab in Roll20 looks different. Are you using stylus? I'm asking because it looks much more useful than the default design, more compressed and strcutured.
@keithcurtis
@keithcurtis 4 жыл бұрын
The script I linked in the notes allows you to send the info to the PCs. There are other ways to do this same trick without the API. Nick Olivo shows some here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obSZqrOpmrycd3k.html By linking each token to the same sheet, you only add one sheet to your campaign overhead. Tokens, with their respective notes take up very little in the way of resources. Just make sure that players have edit and control access on the "Site" sheet, and they can operate (and even edit) pins at will. The stylus style can be found here (and I couldn't do without it, now): userstyles.org/styles/177830/roll20-tighter-sidebar-lists

hmm this topic does not apply to me, Keith. However, I just spotted at 1:02 you using images as icons for the quickbar. I didn't think that was possible. Is that a chrome/FF extension or can you actually use formatting/html in as text?

Those are emojis. They are supported by nearly every modern OS, regardless of browser. A good place to see what's available is www.getemoji.com They will display differently on different platforms, so if you are using an emoji for something your players will see, you can see wht it might look like if they are a Mac user, and you are on Windows, for instance.

So cool of an idea. Wish I had a group that cared about imagery and used their audio. Of all the automated things Roll20 can do, scene change and mood music with the click of a button: it doesn't get much better.

It's freely available. It does require a Pro level subscription to ROll20 in order to use the various API scripts (also freely available). Links to all of these, plus the code can be found here: app.roll20.net/forum/post/4889144/slug%7D As for the graphics I used, I'm waiting till I have enough of them to warrant a Marketplace offering. Until then, the aforementioned Pro level subscription gives you access to other spell effects graphics.
