To all the newbies , i completely agree with her side of the story, but there is always other side of a coin ... If anyone is interested to know my experience.... See small and medium firms are much easy to get in articles when compared with Big4 articleship. And obviously there will some attitude issues , and M&A is a niche sector , not everyone is welcomed into those sectors. 1. Simple example - To audit a 100 crore company a team of 4-5 is enough mostly To audit a MNc with 10000 crore company a much bigger team will be required. But in valuations teams , a best team of 10-15 people can handle 100 crore valuation and even 10000 crore valuation. Means team need not be expanded to even your client value grows multiple times. 2. Trust issues See valuations team is a trust building between the team , one small digit or one simple formula mein mistake and thats it ..... Total valuation will be wrong. So no one is willing to teach to some newbies and trust them , when stake is huge. No one wants to take that risk. But audit has comparatively some basic stuff , all articles even me starting mein vouching hi kiaaa .... So in audit there are some basic stuff you can give to newbies. But imagine if basic information mein you have ommited one zero and used wrong formaula.... Then whole valuation will be wrong. So starting mein thodasa clerical works hi dete newbies ko.... Im sorry but it is what it is ... Once the rapo is build , then its all together a different story. 3. High Pressure job. When two big companies are already ready to merge or someone wants to sell or someone wants to buy...... Their whole deal is waiting only for your valuation certificate, so they keep on asking finish faster ... Why still pending, when it will Become completed So that point no one has neither time, nor any interest to meet their juniors or make them feel warm and comfortable.😅 And if they are like minded , its easy to work with in high stake situations ..... So my take is there is always two sides to a coin .... Decide only after knowing full 360 side of the story. But just think 100 crore valuation ka team percentage will be some 10 lakhs...your share in bonus only be 25k But when your experience is growing your percentage will grow and when youdo 1000 crore valuation it is 2.5 lakhs So first 5-8 years will suck but then it will reward you like anything ..... And remember work life balance - niche sectors mein milnaa bahut mushkil hey... So only get into them , only when you are fully prepared for that.
