This video that essentially got me into nascar. I was fascinated watching back in 2009

I dunno, I think that video of the guys who got trapped by a fallen power line and had their car nearly flattened while screaming PLEASE GOD definitely got too close.

I love at the 4:59 mark of the video how you said I got way to close to this, and then you keep driving forward to get closer to it 🤔

In the beginning of the video, there seem to be multiple funnelclouds. But only one actually touches down.

I grew up in the 70’s where the same 16mm footage was constantly reused. I realize its 50 years later, but the endless KZfaq stuff still amazes me.

Let's take a wild guess what this Einstein had in his car at the time. I'd guess a computer, so they would have radar, a cell phone. probably. What about a first aid kit? Doubtful. Video camera, of course. This is the most important thing to chasers because it's needed to get those money shots they can sell to media outlets. This is what most chasers do when on the road. I always get a laugh when I see a bunch of them speeding down a 2 land road, sometimes side by side. They will not hesitate to run stop signs and red traffic lights. Most chase channels, when they live stream, all you see is clouds, roads, traffic and some rain.

2:16 This tornado is hypnotic to watch, an amazing recording. Thank you for putting your heartfelt safety warning up front so a maximum number will hear it, and thank you too for refraining from shrieking
@buster53546Ай бұрын
I knew someone that went about as close as you were. The tornado threw a piece of steel polebarn siding over a mile it went right through his windshield and killed him and that was a mile away. I think you were maybe closer than that
@falconeyes9668Ай бұрын
Very humble man. Thank you for what you do, tornadoes in California, even in the vast flat central valley are extremely rare. Solar eclipse rare. The majority of people on youtube watch tornado videos because they are magnificent as they are horrifying, especially up close. It's a sober to reminder that tornadoes kill innocent people every year who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Keep up the great work Mr. Hernandez.

Next time get out of the car and confront the tornado….tell it …it can’t be doing these things and tell it to stop and go away😅

I loves me a nice refreshing how I effed up really bad video. People who have the courage and take the time to display such blunders do a great service for anyone venturing into any type of dangerous waters. Such lessons help create more genral awareness and forethought as to what and how shit goes sideways. Peace man!

As storm chasing goes it doesn't seem like you were too close. Reed Timmer does this stuff in rental cars all the time. I'm just glad you're not screaming at us the whole time. Thank you for your work.

Not close at all, we all know storm chasers use extremely powerful telescopic zoom camera lenses which can record up to 10 miles away.

Wow. I don't know how Midwesterners deal with this. It's like if you live in this part of the country, you're automatically entered in the evil weather lottery: maybe it destroys your life, but maybe it doesn't. Every single year. Does everyone just get used to it?
@shoppinsher98432 ай бұрын
Good for you for being responsible and adding your disclaimer so other people don’t kill themselves. However, I have the soul of a storm chaser too, and I would’ve been right there with you! This is awesome footage. I live in Illinois and whenever our sirens go off, I put the dogs in the basement and I go outside to see if I can see the tornado, lol! I’ve never seen one though.
