That was always what I hated about training. The soreness may give you a great feeling but you can not move without pain for 2 days, which is killing my motivation for work or chores. And I doubt that soreness is the way to go.

We live in such a toxic world now days that it's hard not to have low T unless you eat really clean and live an active lifestyle, I know that sounds obvious but it applies even more so now. I've been saying for years though that age has nothing to do with Testosterone, after your spike during puberty it should level back out and if anything rise or stay the same as you get older and mature into manhood. Unfortunately I have a pituitary issue that tanks my T levels, I've tried everything under the sun to fix it but the highest I can get it naturally is about 500, but with no supplements I immediately tank back down to around 150 regardless of my lifestyle or how healthy I eat.

Ive been doing this the past few days now and have seen noticable difference in my pull up negatives. From a quick uncontrolled descent to a more steady downward motion. Im too lazy to stick with a solid routine so I figured doing it spread out would still be beneficial

i'll do a 10-15 min run with maybe some squats and jumps. and then the sprints for 15-20 mins . 10-20 second bursts, walk back to start, repeat 3x , then rest for 3-5 mins with walking. repeat again 2 more times. outside in the sun. shouldnt take more than 45 mins total. once a week. i also do upper/lower split . as intense as possible for 1-2 sets per exercise. taking muscle to failure. i try not to take off more than 2 days between workouts (3-4 workouts per week) and on the upper body day i'll run a mile on treadmill after

The YT algo scares me at times. My only exercise outside of work has been a chin-bar outside my door way - where I’ll do 5 chin-ups (explosive up, controlled down) everytime I leave or enter my room. I’ve never experienced any sort of extreme soreness (unlike a gym sesh or a hard days graft) but it seems to keep me in shape since, on occasion, I’ll have a week off work yet will feel fine when I return to work the following week. I’ve kept track of it on my stream since November 2021 and I’ve currently just broke 9k (which is an average of 1.25 chin-ups a day) - some days I wouldn’t do any since I wouldn’t be home, others I’d peak at 100 depending on how long I’d been awake. What I’m tryna get at is that 2 principals from this video apply to my current situation. First being the consistent low-rep workout that I always do when I’m not away for work. Second being a workout method where I only do as many chin ups as I feel like doing - never “eeking out” a chin up that has bad form, only counting solid form chin ups and not pushing through any “muscle aches” as I wanna be in top form for every chin-up. Therefore my daily amount can vary drastically depending on my recent activity, wake up time or time awake. Yet I’ve stayed consistent with it and I whole heartedly think it’s done me wonders over the years and will keep on doing so.

Hi. Stupid question, please: when you recommend only 2 GTG movements at a time, are you recommending only doing two exercises, or two body sections? E.g., kettle bell swing and military press, or chest and shoulders with multiple exercise?
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 11 сағат бұрын
For most people, especially those already doing a strength training routine, it's best to do two separate sections of the body. There are exceptions, like those who have really good recovery or aren't doing another strength training program. But anymore than two movements and you risk CNS fatigue and anymore than two body sections and you risk muscle fatigue.

Another thing that can contribute suprising strength for the given size is the actual location on the bone where the tendon connects. Just like trying to open a door near the hinge is more difficult than opening it far away from a hinge - an insertion of the tendon far away from the point of rotation creates more mechanical advantage.

Simplest? except if you do it wrong you ruin your back. Its high risk for first timers, I would have absolutely ruined myself if I had not been taught in a weightlifting class because my form was garbage for a solid month (even with the class). start light folks, don't assume a KZfaq video has taught you proper form.

I love the animation. You chose some pretty poor examples at the start, though. Knocking someone out has very little to do with strength and I'm betting the weightlifter has some incredible coordination to go with, something you completely overlooked, which is tendon strength. Both of which probably play a huge roll in his weight lifting prowess. Tendons are what lets you jerk a weight around and not have your muscle tear off your bone. The info was great and greasing the groove is an excellent thing to do but there are a few other factors to getting "skinny strong"... Which I've been training for about 16 years
@moversodyssey
@moversodyssey 18 сағат бұрын
No one is discounting those factors. I said in the video there are many angles to approach this topic and this video only addresses one. These video's are labor intensive and so they have to be nuggets of information and not comprehensive. And I chose those athletes because they display high neuro-muscular efficiency which more or less is efficient muscle coordination. No doubt they have developed strong tendons as well, but that's not the aspect of their strength the video is covering. And perhaps we have different definitions of strength, but to me, power is a form of strength. Not traditional isotonic strength for sure, but starting strength or explosive strength.

the gtg movement is used by strongmen. that's the reason they look big and fat with almost no muscles, but they're strong like monsters. if you want to train gtg method, ask yourself one question.. "are you ready to sacrifice muscles and looks for greater power?" personally, i do hybrid. that way, i can build muscles and looks along with power

2:35 now I haven’t actually researched the literature myself, but I have reason to believe my sources (Jeff Nippard, Dr Mike Israetel) have, and they have debunked the muscle breakdown and repair myth. The primary stimulus driving hypertrophy is mechanical tension, which is why they all emphasize the eccentric phase of the lift, really control the weight on the way down and feel a deep stretch on the bottom. Your muscles as a result don’t necessary break apart even at the micro scale, but they have received the stimulus to trigger the adaptation for hypertrophy. Well I can’t be 100% certain but I’m fairly certain you point is a debunked myth in the scientific literature.

I once worked with a guy who had just finished high school and had been a football player. He was very overconfident about his athletic ability. It turned out I could carry more, climb faster, walk faster with a load, swing a sledgehammer better, and work longer in the hot sun. He could bench and deadlift a lot more, but he couldn't use that for anything practical.

I see this a lot. You can make gym strength translate to real life, but only if your getting a lot of real life style strength work mixed in. Which very few people in the gym do.
