Keep in mind that, not all laptops with usb type-c come with a video output capability from usb type-c

I have watched a lot of fan replacement Dell R series, this is by far the best in both video footage of the replacement and addition of components in the Dell and narrator description of the processes being performed. 👍

Erm question why is one of my monitors still have a black screen i mean the blue light is indicating that its on it just not showing up in my display settings One HdmI cord is connected to my laptop while the other is connected to a dock connected to my laptop

Can you daisy chain 3 monitors and a laptop?

Your monitor must support it and your laptop must be able to output the desired resolution eg. 2x1080p. And even then it's usually 2 monitors max. If unsure - assume you can't.

USB C Thunderbolt connection has DP / HDMI built in where USB can enable another device to work in similar way but in this case I'd just recommend a cheap used USB 3.0 dock like Lenovo USB 3.0 Pro Dock.

Is it possible to use it has a third monitor, 1 being a large monitor on the desk, the 2nd the laptop it self and the 3rd of course the portable monitor. Im asking cause i want to use on the go, but when im on my desk i can have the option of this setup. Thank you

Hi. Yes, provided you have enough ports to connect the two. They are great on the go, just keep in mind they take one port and if it's USB C you cannot use the same port to charge your laptop while using the monitor. Most laptops these days have 2 USB C ports so you should be fine either way.

Thanks for the video. Does it have to be USB type C from the laptop for this to work. I would like to use extended display with HDMI from laptop to two HDMi monitors and still provide 3 different displays in extended mode.

With this exact setup, yes you have to use USB-C as that is what the dock uses. This is where it gets tricky. You have to make sure that your laptop supports video over USB-C; you'll need to read the tech specs and/or documentation. Unfortunately, some laptop models/manufacturers don't make it clear all the time the device's video capabilities. If your laptop doesn't support video over USB-C, you may need to buy USB to HDMI adapters.

It helps to know your setup. What computer are you using? What video ports do the computer and monitors use? How are you connecting the monitors to your computer? Need more info....

Thanks for responding! Yesterday was my first day working remote so I set up the equipment myself but had to contact IT. They had to remote into my computer to fix it so I’m not sure what happened
