Canon FD 50mm Vs Panasonic 25mm

Күн бұрынI always wanted to know is it possible to get a decent low light with budget Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 and how would it compare to Canon FD 50mm with Roxsen Focal Reducer. It's not quite apples to apples comparison but interesting nonetheless. Enjoy!

Thanks. I played with FD for a good while. Had all sorts and liked all of them. Especially when they were not that popular on mirror-less cameras. Mind you, Panasonic has auto focus, sharp image quality, is lighter and stabilizes a bit better. Pity most primes for Panasonic are very pricey.

For sharper images with the Roxsen Focal Reducer, try to play with it's back lens, turning it left or right until you get the best image quality. Do it with the lens wide open. That what I did.

Thank you so much! I was very curious about this. I have a question for the low light qualities between the lenses. At 1.8 on each, with aperture priority, what is the shutter speed for the lenses? I seem to get my ef 50mm f/1.4 canon lens to have faster shutter speed at the same quality of light as my 25mm at f1.7. Let me know what you get. E.g my 25mm would have 1/30ss at f1.8 vs 50mm ef at 1.8 with 1/60ss

It seems like aperture effect on light gathering is equivalent. The difference is the bokeh. Is this correct statement?
