Why just say salmon for most of the video? Is the fish a chinook, a coho, a pink, or an Atlantic? I can tell by looking at them, but many of your viewers can't. I had to wait until the very end for you to identify of the species.

Right on! You should try tightening your drag otherwise you might get spooled. Those also look closer to a brook trout aka Splake. Learn fish ID and follow the regs.
@TheNorthLando5 ай бұрын
Last time I checked Splake is a brown trout and walleye cross. Your fish ID skills may be a bit off. My drag was loose, next time I’ll make sure to max it out so they can’t get away!

Imperial is a legendary firm....my father had used buckshot and slugs in wild boar hunting in Greece,with fantastic results....what a pity that this brand, CIL, has closed...

That’s awesome to hear, legendary forsure. Cool he brought them over to Greece. They were high quality. I collect all the boxes and have a heap of the old shotgun and rifle ammo. Still use the old Sabre tips and KlingKors on deer/bear, results have always been impressive.

I’ve just subscribed to your channel and watched maybe 10 of your awesome videos tonight. I started hunting snowshoe hare about 2 months ago with wither a 20ga of .22LR and the question that I’m burning to ask you is: how in the world do you spot them?! I know about the black eyes and darker ear tips, but sometimes, even if you zoom in on them, I can only see them after you’ve taken the shot. Binoculars? Years of practice? TIA!
@TheNorthLando6 ай бұрын
Great to hear!! The 20 and .22 will be a perfect combo for them. Probably just the years of practice, have my eyes pretty sharp now! Been hunting them in the winter since I was a kid! A decent tip when starting would be to slow it down, take your time and scan everything as you walk through. No rush at all. Look for high traffic areas with isolated structures, eventually you’ll get a routine and pick them out. Good luck out there and thanks for checking out the vids!
