The problem in Canada is cablegate on the RAV4 hybrid. We use a lot of salt on our roads around here. However the Hondas are a lot more expensive than the RAV4 even the XLE Premium. I mean you’re talking 57 grand OTD and an xtra five hundred if you want all weather mats and a trunk liner and no spare tire. At least Toyota will throw in the all weather mats lol.

I use a wheelchair, I removed the rear seat behind the driver, then the sliding seat bracket from my 2022 Honda Odyssey so I can load my wheelchair behind me, no handicap conversion nonsense for me, I never considered the Sienna once I heard it was 4 cylinder CVT, no way, never, I prefer the Honda, I travel back and fourth through the Smokey Mountains from Tennessee to North Carolina, so far my van has been loaded with several coolers full of beef from a cow we had cut up, it handled the load quite well, you could tell it was loaded tho. I've been used to big vans that get single digit gas mileage so believe me, 26 MPG is a blessing, and I need a vehicle that lasts, this replaced my 99 E350, it got 15 MPG at best when new. I don't know why they all need a sunroof/moon roof, its just something to leak later, stop putting holes in vehicle roofs. The Honda will shut off if in traffic long periods, I hate that, turn it off, and I miss using a key, shut it off and the radio stays on until you open the door, making you think its still running. #1 Pet peeve is with the windows down the damn back doors wont open all the way, another unwanted safety feature for morons, I can't get my wheelchair in or out unless the sliding door is all the way open.

Pilot the easy choice. Unless I’m trading in the car within 3 yrs or leading it, you choose Honda. Hyundai is a good reliable vehicle these days yet the resale are atrocious compared to Honda. As in 20-25% difference after 5 yrs. If you are purchasing or putting a high amount down on a car…Honda Pilot. Proven generation too

Hey future reference I don’t think that was a fair comparison I own a 2024 Honda Accord hybrid touring you can’t compare a civic touring against an accord ex obviously the civic is going to have way more features. Not tryna hate but again how fair would it be if you compared the Honda accord hybrid touring against the civic lx obviously people would choose the accord touring because of the features like the heads up display & leather seats with the bose sound system and way better screen and ect… I think if you’re gonna compare something compare it to the same trim. I owned the 2023 civic sport touring I loved it but once I got the 2024 accord hybrid touring I most definitely think it’s better then the civic

Thanks for comment Damian. I agree that comparing apples to apples would have been to compare the civic touring to an Accord touring. And maybe that is a future comparison to do. The purpose of this comparison was to take two models that were essentially the same price and compare them. For someone that knows they want a Honda and has a $30,000’ish budget, which one is the better car? That was my purpose.

@@Chadscarcomps thanks for the reply I see I see but I really hope u do make a video comparing touring to touring because I feel like people will get mistaken yk and some points in the video u will say for example “the accord got the smaller screen” it can be misleading because the sport hybrid and up has the bigger & better screen not all the accords have the down grade screen if that makes sense. Not hating or anything maybe I took offense because I have an 2024 accord hybrid touring and it’s a fantastic car 😭😂 again I just feel like that wasn’t a fair comparison but I appreciate you and hope u don’t take no offense!

The Sienna has one huge advantage in MPG but three giant knocks against it in my book which are that the middle row isn't designed to come out, that in top trims you are limited to 7 passengers instead of 8, and that you can't get them without a long wait and/or a big markup. The markups mean that even with the better MPG, you may never recoup the cost difference with the Odyssey which can be had for thousands less in equivalent trim levels. For me the middle seat situation in top trims is a deal breaker. I need 8 people and I need sometimes to take out the seats.

The Kia clearly wins on looks. the sienna, with the hybrid option, appears to have the advantage, but the initial higher cost does not allow for people to recoup any savings unless they keep the vehicle for a very long time and drive many miles, mixed driving. And if you do intend to keep the vehicle along time, the Kia Warranty is so much longer. It almost makes a decision to no-brainer.

My purpose in comparing these two vehicles equipped as they were was to get the price very close to each other. My review was to hopefully help someone who is trying to figure out how to best spend their money. These two vehicles were only a few hundred dollars apart. If I had compared an Accord Touring to a Civic Touring, the price difference would have been close to $8-$10k. I didn't think that would be as useful of a comparison as the one I did here.

@@Chadscarcomps that makes sense to me now! I get that it’s like, “okay if ur in the market for a new car and lookin to spend around 30 here are some solid options side by side” I think in the future if you ever came back to a topic similar to this comparing two Hondas (or any other type of car) to appeal, not to a budget consumer, but to one looking to compare two high end models to see the differences in what their money will get them! Thanks for explaining your thought process on why you went this route! I retract my “goofy”

You forgot about the Sport package for the Odyssey to make 5 different trims. Also you compare a Sienna Platinum package over an Odyssey EX-L model, which is next in line after the base EX model. Why didn't you compare this Sienna to an Odyssey Elite model? You were better off comparing the Odyseey to a Sienna XLE model. This is not a full apples to apples comparison here.

I have a 2023 Honda Hrv sport and I think it’s way better than both of these Sedans Crossovers are the way to go today. Plus the Honda hrv sport offers more features than the Honda civic like for instance All LEDs, Heated Seats, Blind spot monitoring, and turn signals on the mirrors and a much better and quieter ride. So those of you considering buying a Honda Civic but aren’t sure try considering the Honda hrv sport like I did and you’ll be happy. I have over 6,000 miles on mine and no issues. Also I dislike the auto stop/start feature on the Civics and both are similar vehicles as they are Hondas but the Hrv offers better features if you can get past the fuel economy numbers being a little lot lower.

Honda has some catching up to do with its interiors and tech for sure! On the exterior, the C-pillar looks dated IMO, prefer the all glass or blacked out C-pillar detail on SUV’s as on the Santa Fe. The gas mileage on the Pilot is also a deal-breaker, they need to come out with a hybrid. For these reasons we’re looking into the Santa Fe Caligraphy Hybrid when it comes out as a road trip vehicle. The exterior of the Santa Fe has been polarizing for sure but I appreciate the practicality of the boxy design and like that it is different. Nice review 👍
@Chadscarcomps
@Chadscarcomps Ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Expect a mid-cycle refresh for the Pilot soon. That will likely not address powertrain, overall exterior look (maybe slight change), or significant changes in tech. I expect it will include a change to the multimedia screen, front end/grill, and maybe tail lights. Honda is definitely “resting on its laurels” right now with some outdated styling and tech. If it goes on too long, I would think some Honda loyalists may start to jump ship. A hybrid 4 cylinder powertrain is the likely replacement for the v6 in its next full redesign. I expect to see that first in the new Odyssey coming in 2026 model year, I believe.
