Also my compliments on the outstanding glamour. White mages in Gridania traditionally wear whites robes woth a little red on them. You kept the motif but switched it around. Instead of a large white robe, you made a large white Miq'ote. Then you reversed the color values on the robe. Instead of a lot of white (now fur color) on the robe, you reversed it and made it red. People look at your character and know something is a bit off but can't quite figure it out. Bravo.

After a few minutes watching this video and what the animations look like I came to realize White Mage is actually a Water Mage, as all the animations look like or contain water. Even the only dps attack looks like a clump of river rocks.

i have a lot of love in my heart for sigmascape because it was the first savage tier i beat on content (i'd done a few savage fights in hw but didn't consider myself a skilled enough player to actually try raiding for real until i got invited by a group in stormblood), but i think my favorite fight to date is seat of sacrifice ex. i think it's cool, i think it's fun, i think it's challenging, and i love the parallels to player mechanics that he uses. as someone commented on an upload of to the edge: it's him. mr finalfantasy

guilds reducing what they show to prevent secrets getting out, Wow I never knew anyone raided like that anymore. I no longer have what it takes to do progression gameplay in MMOs but did it in Everquest and back then secrecy was everything. I just figured it died off once raiding went instanced in all games. Its interesting to see what progression raiding has become since those years long ago though. This stuff is way harder than anything I remember in EQ, of course the EQ stuff was hard AF for its era but looking back the mechanics were non existent compared to anything modern.

I'm replaying from ARR. Started about a year or so after clearing Endwalker. The job design is absolutely terrible and samey. There is very little flavor or anything unique about the jobs besides the particle effects and animations. Utility isn't really something that exists, and while I noticed that in EW, it's MUCH more noticeable when I am doing more antiquated content in ARR that still used their old design philosophy. Side content, particularly that neglected by SE, at least still bears some limited vestiges of interesting design, but as it stands the game just feels like a much, much worse version of any old ARPG you could play. The obsession with 'balance' between jobs is absurd to me. Like, I actually don't get it. This is a game where the whole gimmick is the ability to switch jobs, yet the game is obsessed with homogenizing jobs so that they are all good at the exact same things. That's so crippling and limiting to the design of the rest of the game that it cannot be understated. It feels like GW2 at release where literally everyone is just a flavor of DPS, except healers are TERRIBLE to play because of that. Just godawful. There needs to more utility, more horizontal progression, and more flavor. Seeing stuff like Evasion buffs and or Parry buffs or Stuns or Crowd Control or Directional Attacks or Status Effects playing a role in fights beyond simple trash mobs is just sad as it is vestigial. I am replaying the game for the story, mostly, because it's a Final Fantasy game I like, but if it maintains the current design philosophy of everything being the same, everything being viable, everything being either borderline identical-to-each-other DPS or 'DPS but more boring' then I certainly won't continue playing after completing Endwalker again. Adding onto this, stats do not matter beyond crit and DH. They literally don't. Materia might as well not exist. Gear with stats beyond damage and crit, once again, may as well not exist. Another thing, adding on: People need to be more vocal and upset about it. Toxic positivity breeds complacency. It's very, very sad.

i loved the cross class system and RPG aspect of the game back then. now its not a rpg anymore, it resembles what ff16 butchered in their combat. (becoming an action game, straying away from RPG). the combat is just lack luster now in ff14, everything is streamlined and we still have idiots not knowing how to play the game. disappointing.

I would add OGCD faster so ppl dont get to sleep doing 1-2-3 for 30 levels and they could see that the GCD is not slow when you have OGCD

Some people can't. A lot of people can't. Raiding requires skills that many people don't think of as skills, but they do impact people's ability to do stuff like this. Telling people not to be afraid and give it a try is one thing, but telling them "this takes no inherent skill, you just need to [inherent skill], [inherent skill], and [inherent skill]" is condescending and frustrating.

For the Mechs Snapshot section, there's a third type of common snapshot method, which is audio cue. Typically with audio cues, a specific sound (or boss dialogue) plays, and the snapshot occurs when the sound ends. Classic example is in Garuda Ex or UWU for Feather Rain, where there's a distinct scream letting you know to move quickly. Once the scream is over the mechanic is snapshot. Another example is actually the Pinax Lightning shown 54:30 ; the lightning snapshot is actually sound-based as opposed to "feely craft."

After watching this video I am woefully disappointed in EVERYTHING!!! This looks like the dev team was just sleeping for the last 2 years. For lv 100 skills and potentially our last set of skills, this seems lack luster and drab. Removing all skill locks and letting people use all their skills in every dungeon would be another nice addition. It would facilitate better learning of jobs and rotations. You wouldn't constantly be dragged back into a previous edition of your character every time you hopped into a roulette. And yes, I absolutely mean let a Sage use Pneuma in Sastasha. Other MMOs do it just fine, there is no reason this one can't. Honestly, most of the excuses are just a cloak for shameful laziness and penny pinching.
